@tallenpelegrin70264 жыл бұрын
I think the band has been a bit unjust with Lindsey. I mean, they allowed Christine to leave for 16 years and then welcomed her back with open arms. Lindsey wished to take a year off from touring and they kicked him out of the band for it. I guess maybe with their ages now they feel that they just can't lose even a year, but the sense is that he's out for good and won't ever again be welcomed back.
@sofia01ht3 жыл бұрын
@@tallenpelegrin7026 well... Christine was not physically aggressive to the other members tho. As good as he might be, he was abusive and we all know that. Christine left because of her mental health so... your point is exactly???

Very sad that Fleetwood mac had 'renewed their wedding vows' yet the following year Stevie and Lindsey had an almighty falling out and she insisted he be fired from the band. They spent decades successfully putting their differences and heartaches aside to produce some of the finest pop music of the 20th century, only to fuck up in the last few years of their working lives.
@romanticandperky5 жыл бұрын
Christine McVie wrote some of the best pop songs of all-time. I don't think it's a coincidence that her maiden name was Perfect. Her songs were as close to perfection as you can get in a pop song; my favorite being-'You Make Lovin' Fun'. I was literally sitting next to Herbert Worthington III when I heard that song for the first time. He did album covers for Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks. And he had an eerie resemblance to Jesus. That line keeps coming back to me: "I never believed in miracles, but I've a feeling it's time to try."

@Nick G There was a documentary about Christine McVie on over Christmas. Stevie was very supportive and glad she rejoined. Pity she didn't show it and contribute to a new FM album or at least allow Buckingham/McVie to be released as FM album. Mick Fleetwood said he hasn't spoken to Lindsey since his heart attack. That is just nasty.

Stevie Nicks will never grow up, she's been a baby all her life. Her first name is 'Stevie' because she couldn't say 'Stephanie' as a child - she used to say something like 'Teedie'. Instead of her parents teaching her to say 'Stephanie' they let her say whatever she wanted. She later changed Teedie to Stevie. A spoiled brat.

It's amazing how celebrity affects people. A person that doesn't know her, knows nothing about how she is, who she is or what she is like will swear allegiance to her and profess undying love for her because they like the way she looks and the sound of her voice. Everyone, even I fall for this without realizing it. Then you think about it. I hope she does well and lives a long life for a couple reasons. Because I am a decent person and want her to live and be happy for her benefit, but also for a selfish reason. Which is I want more music out of her. What songs would we love to listen to for the next 50 to 100 years that Tom Petty would have written in 2019, had he lived to see today? We will never know now.

She was born Perfect and to me, she is absolutely perfect. Immensely talented songwriter, keyboard player and performer, the glue that has bound Fleetwood Mac together all these years. The relationship between Buckingham and Nick's put immense strain on the band yet it was Chrissy who always seemed to be the voice of reason and common sense. I can't believe that she is happy with Buckingham having been fired from the band. It's akin to firing John Lennon from the Beatles!

Wish they would talk about the Bob Welch era because it's by far the best
@blossomsquirrel4 жыл бұрын
It's a populist fairly superficial magazine programme. The presenters are no doubt briefed on what they're going to ask her. As far as they/script writers (and most of the general public) are concerned Fleetwood Mac's year zero begins with the mid-70's, particularly 'Rumours'. It wouldn't be difficult for them (or anybody with access to the internet, for that matter) to check up on the band's origins and personnel changes but that sort of stuff is relegated to more serious documentaries. I saw her with the band in Cardiff (Wales) back in 1970, not long after Peter Green had left. Their future then did not seem very rosy. I remember the Bob Welch era although I must admit that once Peter Green had gone I'd lost interest. I'll check out some of that era now you've mentioned it. As for the most commercially successful line-up there's no doubt that with the addition of Buckingham & Nicks (you'd see ads in the NME for the duo around '73-'74) they certainly hit the jackpot, commercially speaking of course, seeing as you, Alan, along with many older fans, prefer an earlier incarnation.

I know that time was a happy time for her because her and Lindsay put out that album together she didn't know that Stevie was going to wreck the whole thing now the band is destroyed I'm sure now Christine is coming close to retirement cuz who wants to put up with all that drama she didn't come back for that she didn't come back for all that drama that got going on now
@Shaun.Stephens5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I get the feeling that she's not happy. Stevie just had the band cancel some shows because she's got a cold, it wouldn't surprise me if Christine called it quits but I suspect she's got a contract and the band wouldn't work without her *and* Lindsey.

Why, did Christine joined the new line up? I don't understand!
@mrgreengenes045 жыл бұрын
Its her band, thats why.
@wayneblanchard974 жыл бұрын
She rejoined the band because she'd spent about 16 years living in the English countryside and realised how much she missed making music and touring. She has said that when she purchased her house she invested herself in fixing that up. And she made a couple solo albums that pretty much went nowhere. Beyond that she said life got predictable and boring.... She had been in bands for some years prior to joining Fleetwood Mac in the early 70s (she guested on piano on their 'Kiln House' album and was a member by the next one, 'Bare Trees'). Before that, she'd already had success with British Blues band Chicken Shack, with whom, in addition to a hit album or two she had a hit single with the Etta James classic, 'I'd Rather Go Blind'. So, it's understandable that when she initially left the band she'd had lived many years of the rock 'n' roll lifestyle. When she suggested she wanted to return, Lindsey was against the idea, noting that people can just quit and rejoin the band. The irony with that was that he had quit and rejoined. So, I think, did Stevie. Of course, Christine is also the one who has written so many of the band's biggest hits. She is such a voice of the band since she joined, that she is really the single most important component of the band's history.
