I love, love, love the idea of a gratitude journal/saying something you’re grateful for! We incorporated that into our morning basket routine and everyone is enjoying it so much! My daughter even will randomly tell me things she’s grateful for throughout the day now! Thank you!

Oh my gosh. Sooo true about the conversations throughout the day with your family, so do the same with God. You’re now the 3rd person to bring up conversations and gratitude.... I FEEL THE NUDGE, JESUS!

I haven't finished this but I LOVE what you said about prayer!!! It's not a box to check off... It's a relationship! Amen! I also agree that we have to be intentional about not raising entitled children! SO MUCH of what they have is NOT a right, it's a privilege and can be taken away in an instant! 👏👏👏 Wonderful words!

I found gratitude journals at Five Below and we have been using it daily with homeschooling my grandchildren. I spiral bound the, and it’s awesome to do. It’s also great for the kids to be aware of the date and learn to write the date. Often homeschoolers don’t do that.

I love the idea of a prayer/ gratitude journal for morning basket Can I ask what did you use to create one? Thanks!

I created mine using Illustrator but you could even do it using Google docs. :)

This sounds like a great idea; I’d like to start doing this with my girls. To clarify; you do your gratitude journal, prayer, and 1 chapter of a read aloud every morning ? And then you mentioned the other three items you have on loop- the story of the world, king tut, and habits ? So do you do this loop addition with all the others (gratitude journal, prayer, and 1 chapter read aloud)? And you are working through all three of those loop options at the same time, but just one a morning? I’m super new to new homeschooling with a 4 year old and 2.

Yes, so we do our journal and read aloud every day and then loop through the other things which means we just do one of those per day. :)

So this was very very helpful! Thank you! i kept hearing about Morning Baskets and how to plan them but I needed to see it in real time. This was what I needed. Do you still recommend the Habit Training?

In New Zealand the school year runs from February through mid-December. Same in Australia. :)
