People need to realize how short childhood truly is. 10 years felt like an eternity when we were kids. But as adults watching our children grow up, it's a blink. Don't waste these precious handful of years. Don't wait for "better times" next year. Live and experience the unique moments you have now.

For real. In my family there are a lot of little cousins. I was there when they were just born (well, not during the birth itself, but me and my parents did go to the hospital to see them) and now most of them are in their tween/teenage years (and sure, there's not usually an enormous gap between us since I'm just in my early 20s, but sometimes it still feels hard to process)

I know this all too well. One day my son's were little boys, now they are 21 and 19 years old. I can't believe how time flies. My 19 year old will be 20 on Valantine's day 2025, and my oldest son will be 22 in June of 2025. Cherish every moment with them while you can.

42yr old here, been following you for yrs. Daughters are 8 and 4 and I’m going through the exact same thing brother. My 8 yr old is growing up way too fast. It’s a challenge and a privilege to be able to grow and a change with them. I try not to push my likes onto to them, whatever they are into, I am as well. What a short beautiful life this is. Be Present in your children’s lives, it’s a blink of an eye’s worth of time when it passes.

Thank you for this great upload. My kids are almost 15 and 12 now. There definitely is a sense of loss as they outgrow the traditions, interests and innocence of their younger years. But as they keep moving up, there’s always new things to be so proud of them for. Their independence, accomplishments and growth continues to amaze us as parents.

Tyler, I randomly found your channel a few months ago and have watched a bunch of your videos. I got excited to find out that you grew up in the Houston area, albeit on the other side of town. But then in this video I see you taking your daughter to a theatre I grew up going to and still live near. Your channel brings me joy, helps bring back memories of my childhood, and sometimes it even helps me to let out a few tears now and then. Thank you for this channel. I’m new to the “my retro life” but I’m already a big fan. Keep up the good work and have Happy New Year.

Man, I'm legit welling up watching this video. You have such an innate knack for conveying wholesome, sincere, emotionally-evocative stuff, dude, and your family is absolutely adorable. I don't plan on having kids and I only have one niece who's about the same age as Hallie so I was already dreading the thought of the babyish era of her child basically ending once she turns 10 when I thought about this around Christmas. You and your wife seem to be doing an amazing job so pat yourselves on the back and thanks for another truly wonderful video.

My daughter turned 5 this year and we’re expecting a boy in April. Having kids makes you look at everything from a different perspective and makes you realize how quickly time goes by. She wanted Minecraft for Christmas so we’ve been enjoying it together. I can’t wait to see what next year holds for you and the channel. On a different note, silent hill 2 remake is my GOTY. It was so perfect.

I know what it is like to get my first video gaming system when I was a kid. my mom & dad got me the Atari 2600 for Christmas back in 1980. I was just 8 at the time. this is what got my start in my video game addiction thru out the years. now I'm 52 I still have fond memories of every video game & video game system I got over the years.

Childhood is so short. We don't realize how fast it goes when we are kids. Kids these days are so lucky that cameras can fit in the palm of our hands now. Every special moment can be captured for them. I know one day, the children of this generation will appreciate all the videos and pics their family took of them as they grow older. Time only moves forward. We never get a day back. That's why it's so important to document special memories so it can be looked back on fondly. Merry Christmas to you and your family. ❤ I always enjoy watching your videos.

same here. I think a lot of us are probably around the same age, had similar experiences and have similar circumstance currently. I'm over trying to have everything for myself, I value good memories like the ones we all had as kids and just want to keep that spirit alive. For a long time I felt depressed because it felt like all the good times were behind me, but then I realized those memories were given to me as a gift from not only God, but the people in my life who made the effort to create good memories. It wasn't necessarily "easy" for them, either. Now it's time for us to carry the torch and create good memories.
@Bmhh247813 күн бұрын
@@Digimess88Yeah. I suffer from PMDD along with many other physical and mental illnesses, and each month when the PMDD hits, I get these overwhelming feelings of how meaningless life is and severe depression that I cannot talk myself out of, due to hormonal and chemical imbalances, I just have to go through it till it's over, I usually want to die during that time because the pain and rage and loss of will to live inside is so intense, and although it's absolutely terrifying, It reminds me that the only things that really matter are me and my loved ones salvation and safety and I try to cling to old good memories even though all of that doesn't help me feel better at all, you just tell yourself it'll feel worth it again once this is all over. Sometimes it's also encouraging to think this could be my last day on earth, "maybe I'll die today and the pain may end". And it reminds me all else we worry about and stress over really is meaningless and we spend so much time fighting for and worrying about nonsense. All we have is today. Live each day like the last.

This one hit close to home. Always have loved watching your videos as we are about the same age and have shared many points in our lives. I have two boys, 7 and 9. This was the year I noticed my 9 year old was questioning things much more than ever. He kept the facade up i believe for his brother, but I know that conversation is coming up before next Christmas. It all moves so fast. I've actually made a point to try and capture more stuff with videos and not just pictures after having watched your channel years ago and seeing how much your Dad captured with his camera. Something someone said to me at my wedding years ago is something I still live by. It happens so fast. Make sure to take moments to just stop, look around and appreciate where you are. Try to live by that. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Hey! My Christmas (or rather end of the year)t radition is playing new game from "Like a Dragon" series - so I started "Infinite Wealth" as well; absolutely loving it. 2024 was also bittersweet for me: I managed to take care of problems that were almost ruining my life since early 2023, got to work on amazing projects and save enough money to basically take the whole December off. Still, my Dog (she was 16, almost 17) passed away on 24th of September and since it was always me and her spending the Christmas together, well, it was quiet and the silence was so loud during these days. Miss her like crazy. Wishing you all the best in 2025, lots of love from Poland 💌.
