Personally wouldn't regret it at all, as you said it's just "stuff". Memories and experiences are more meaningful. As I've grown older material possessions mean less and less to me

I never finished Mario 64. I feel like i played it a lot but its never held my interest long enough to get to the end. I didn't like replaying levels over and over, and the pace is just slow instead of having tight level design with a nice flow to it. I still like the game and all, but the 2D games are way better. Mario Odyssey was fantastic though.

I bought my Wii in January 2012 but I did play at a recreation center and have a few friends who bought their early versions of the Wii. It was a childhood that I will never forget. ❤️

I remember seeing ads for this in gaming magazines. It looked amazing. Never got a chance to play it though, unfortunately. There was also an ad for Lunar in the back of the booklet that came with Alundra. LOVED that game.

My first game system was the ps1. My sister was eight years older then me and when I would go visit her we would play it all the time. Then one birthday she gave it to me. I was so happy.

Binging these while working so. Fun story. I had this game. new. It was my dad's. Dad wasn't around alot. I played it and one day my friend came to the door. "hey can seth come outside?" "sure let me ask him.... Seth Michael wants to know if you wanna play outside with him" "Yeah I just gotta take misty to the clinic so I can save" Yeah after that I wasn't allowed to play GTA lol. That was a cousin sleepover game or a friends house game.

My parents were already divorced eight years before Wave Race 64 came out. I was with my mother and someone who was technically a stepfather the year the same game came out. I got it a year later in 1997 back when that year was somewhat traumatizing due to punishments for me and being diagnosed with high-functioning Autism in Atlanta, Georgia, then diagnosed again ten years later with low-functioning Asperger's syndrome in Athens, Georgia. Although it was my sixth game, I rented it earlier at Movie Gallery (now out of business) and it triggered me into video game music collecting and I couldn't find its soundtrack at any music stores, until I noticed it was only in Japan. I remember seeing the original GB one at MediaPlay (also out of business) in their "GameZone" section and almost bought it, but couldn't due to parents telling me to save money back then. Donkey Kong '94 GB composer Taisuke Araki also composed Wave Race GB which is okay to listen to. Wave Race 64 was composed by Kazumi Totaka who is very notable for popular games like Link's Awakening, Animal Crossing series and Wii Sports, as well as good underrated ones like X (エックス、Ekkusu) for GB and Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru (カエルの為に鐘は鳴る、"For The Frog The Bell Tolls"). Wave Race: Blue Storm was composed by Lawrence Schwedler, James Phillipsen and audio was done by Rory Johnston. Aspen Lake - Replay (especially the promo CD album version) turned out to be the best of the soundtrack. I agree that the rest isn't tranquil like Wave Race 64's soundtrack. On Bandcamp, a fanmade arranged album titled "Dolphin Park" was created in Australia and released by Retro Game Music online and in a limited edition vinyl record. It has Japanese jazz, rock and city pop styles. Too bad the vinyl records were sold out and not every song from the soundtrack were arranged. Some original ones were added, but I didn't feel excited enough to listen to them. I wished earlier that there would be an arranged album and I felt excited enough to purchase it and then relaxed listening to it. Nowadays, it is one of my most important parts of my sentimental childhood memories growing up while preparing for the next four years to be brutally challenging, especially when we are on our all alone. But looking back at it during traumatizing times may or may not be worth it depending on how I feel. And I think I still have all three games at my home. Thank you for sharing your video on KZbin.

So, funny story about Fantasia It is the only game from my early childhood that I remember actively disliking. This was back when I was a dumb kid that was happy to play literally any videogame you put in front of him, no matter how bad it was. And Fantasia somehow managed to fall even below my extremely low standards.

I actually never got into Zelda until Ocarina of Time, even though I owned an NES and SNES In fact my very first exposure to Link(that I can remember) was playing Donkey Kong Country II and there was this video game hero section and I was like, who the hell is this green guy? I would play Link to the past, years later but by that point I definitely was much more enthralled by the 3D outings. Even to this day, top down Zelda's never quite clicked with me.

I'm always gonna appreciate it and hopefully I'll do the same for when I have kids in the future when the next FOMO inducing console comes out.

I was kind of a Sega hater at that time, so i secretly rejoiced that Sonic 3 wasn't out that Xmas. Over time though I've grown to appreciate the greatness of Sonic, even though I was primarily a Nintendo and Atari guy growing up

I just turned 20 myself, i know im still very young, certainly younger than you... And man... The phrase "even at 20 you still look back at the old days, the nostalgia, because it reminds you of the good ol days" hit me super hard because im currently going through that lol, and reading all the other comments just makes me realize that feeling never goes away, instead 20 years from now ill be in your place, and reminiscing on the days where i was 20 lol! Thank you youtube for recommending this to me, and thank you sir for creating this... It really hits home for me and i can see how your experiences mirror a ton of young people in their 20's and stuff... Instant sub lol

We have been primarily an Xbox house since the x360 (owned a PS3 and a Wii though), with 3 Xbox one and 2 xbox one series X purchased since. My youngest child however has been adamant that he wants a PS5. Most kids would be thrilled at all of the consoles, computers, and general gaming that is supported in this house, but he has been dead set that he wants to be a Playstation kid. This year we finally caved and have a PS5 and a bunch of games ready to go under the tree for him. Your bit about making kids core memories, and how excited the parents even look hit home with me. I don't really game too much these days myself, but I think I may be more excited about giving my son a PS5 than he will be about receiving it.

You, my friend are one of the really lucky ones despite the loss and pain you went through. You have the greatest gift of ALL OF THIS video content to look back on and relive. Most of my generation (Gen X) could only wish our parents had a video camera back in the early 80s or even a camcorder in the early 90s as teens and young adults. Sonic CD is a gem. I can remember the feeling of setting up that new Sega CD system with Sewer Shark and Sonic CD. I still love the soundtrack to it.
