Wonderfully eclectic batch of great vintage books! Santa brought you some really fine ones there. Thanks for sharing. I enjoy the way you show them, adding snippets of info about them as we look.

You mean there are books you didn’t already have? Amazing. Merry Christmas.

Santa Claus knows his GGA, ha. I had a lot of fun collecting those old Dell comics back in the day and reveled in the sumptuous “Turok, Son of Stone” painted covers. Consumers didn’t know what a prized piece of art could be had for a mere 10 cents (!) Quite the bounty from Kris Kringle’’s bag…enjoy, Gary!

Very nice old comics, books, and magazines you got for Xmas. I’ve started collecting Zane Grey western digests from the 1950s and any science fiction digest magazines from the 50s, 60s, and a few from the 70s. The cover art is what I really like about the digests and I like to read short stories. My favorite thing to read is pulp hero reprints of the Spider and the Avenger.

Yes and Spider is my favorite too!

Thanks, Gary. Some great books. Liked the Sexton Blake Library originals. Luckily i was around in the pre decimal days. The d was pennies, while s was for shillings. There was sixpence to the shilling and twenty to the pound. When they decimalised they cut the shilling to 5 pence. We also had a half penny and a threepenny bit which confused kids and parents alike. To make matters worse there was the guinea, which was like a pound but more valuable. All the best for 2022.

Thanks for the explanation, I always found British money confusing. All best to you.

Love the Indian Chief, they are amazing. I am a new pulp collector and I am wondering if you (or someone else here) could help me with I can get informations on who did which covers and also if someone has or know where I can get my hands on a Bookery's guide (the lastest). Thank you.
@garylovisi3573 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I fo not know who did that Dell cover art, it is truly amazing. I bought my Bookery Guide when it came out years ago. You might find one on eBay or Abe books.

@@garylovisi357 Oh, I meant cover art on pulps. Is there a website or something? Bookery is not on ebay or abe, but maybe somebody here knows something?
@garylovisi3573 жыл бұрын
I think there are pulp sites on Facebook, but I am not on them so do not know which they are. Sorry.

Spiv….a man, typically a flashy dresser, who makes a living by disreputable dealings. Basically a British gangster type
@garylovisi3573 жыл бұрын
Cool, thank you, I kinda figured that was it. I have a 50s gangster digest titled Soho Spiv that I have been hankering to read.

Does Santa wrap all of these gifts individually?
@garylovisi3573 жыл бұрын
No, in groupings. Santa is very busy but energetic!

New subscriber here. Great video, and great stuff! Is there anywhere that I can read these stories without paying an arm and a leg for them? Were any of the Amazing Stories ever reprinted? I've always wanted to read this stuff, but I'm not so sure I will be able to afford it.
@garylovisi3572 жыл бұрын
Hi, Peter, welcome aboard. You can find some Pulp reprints at Bold Venture Press.com; Adventure House. com; and there is a publisher who puts out Armchair Books you might like.
