There are “silent” whistles you can put on your car that the deer can hear and helps to keep them to go the other direction than your vehicle. It is surprising how far and how high they can jump. Plus right now it is mating (rutting) season. We live in Indiana and also have a high population of deer.

That was so fun! And oh my...my ❤️ when the girls danced! The deers by me in a one square mile town n NJ is so overrun by deer...they walk down the streets in large groups all the time. Its almost as common to see as a squirrel. They don't even cross the street when they see humans anymore 😳 its a little scary. Safe travels back Nya. It's been lovely seeing you on the video. One of our fav traditions! Looking at Xmas lights!! I never realized until I was much older how my mom made Xmas so special raising 5 kids with little money. Gathering pine cones in the yard, hot coco, church activities. The best moments I remember as a child had nothing to do with cost! And my girls LOVE those traditions now!!

Starting as a very young child (I’m 67 now) my dad, my grandpop and my 4 sisters and brother would load up into the station wagon and ride around town and see Christmas lights while mom and gramma would wrap gifts. I still dream of those days.

Deer are very plentiful where I live and I use deer-horns to help keep them from running in front of you while you are driving. They are just little bull-horn looking instruments that go in the grill/front of your car... when you drive they make a very loud high pitched whistle that deter the deer from running in front of you! Some say it doesn't work, but with my experience, it has saved me a many of times from hitting a deer.

So thankful you are all ok from the deer hit. We are in Northern Minnesota, very rural area and deer are constantly getting hit, ALL times of the day and night! Hubby hit one last Friday night, he's ok too, we all tend to drive pickups or larger vehicles, that sit up a bit, so deer don't come thru the windshields!!! But all times of the year, in rural/country areas, deer are thick!!!

The year that I flew from home (New Zealand) to visit my sister and her family in England I was there at the same time and I was tempted to stay for Christmas but my parents would of not bothered to cook a Christmas meal so I went home. We did early Christmas things together as well so I feel for Nya. It's been awesome having her in your videos she is such a lovely person. Xx
