Christmas Crappie Was On Fire! Caught My Limit (Technically) Within 2 Hours. MERRY X-MAS EVERYONE!!

Using a 3 inch Tiny Fluke made by Zoom in the Arkansas Shad color, it didn’t take long to find Crappie in BRAND NEW TERRITORY!! It was so cool finding a massive mound of crappie just laying all over a creek that feeds into the Clinch River like I did. 4 pound test with an ultra light rod also helped maximize the fun in catching these slabs! It took me over 4 weeks to finally get back out to fish again, due to my truck driving job leading up to the holidays and how busy we got. But nevertheless, I was finally able to make some time to go out and show you all a very awesome video I was able to compile.
I want to thank you all so much for being a part of my KZbin family as n enjoying the content I’ve provided for you all since I started my KZbin channel last year at this time! You all always help me feel blessed and grateful to be able to go out and record the greatest sport for all to enjoy and show you the excitement Crappie fishing can bring to you all, if you watch and learn a couple things here and there. Having been told by a couple they’ve learned something from watching my videos humbles me to no end! Thank you, thank you, and thank you all!

May have cracked diaphragm on fuel pump , CDI box could be acting up . Coil pack could be dropping out on full load . Or weak power pack if it has such .

The problem with your boat is most likely your fuel line collapsed. Inside the fuel line is a lining that breaks down sometimes as quickly as a year. Replace your fuel line and see what happens. Also check to make sure the fuel tank is venting properly to ensure a good flow at speed.

I’m glad you mentioned it. I saw somebody mention a similar problem they had with their fuel line breaking down from the inside inner lining being way up by the fuel that sits in it for a period of time. It especially happens when wintertime comes and everybody’s boats are winterized. I’m going to get a new fuel line with primer bulb to see if that’ll fix the problem. If it doesn’t, the fuel tank is next on the list. When I get done truck driving today, Bass Pro Shops is next on my agenda list. Thanks for the heads up! I live on Melton Hill (actually in Bull Run) and love fishing it... I do not eat crappie (texture thing for me) but man do people like catching them... I catch a ton of bass fishing the same way you crappie fish every year with a 3 inch minnow like that on ultra-lite gear

There’s going to be a day where I’ll end up hooking into a 5+ pound lunker just using that very 3 inch tiny fluke jig setup. or even the Bobby Garland setup, too. But that’s fun when you catch even a 3 pounder on an ultra lite rod with 4 pound test. It makes you feel like you’ve hooked into a 10+ pounder. Haha!

I checked the spark plugs and coils and they were fine. I haven’t gotten to the fuel line, yet, because Im going to get a fuel line from the auto parts store. I know which line you’re talking about. I seen them in a plastic box hanging on a Walmart shelf. It was straight grey and looked cheaply made. Even the primer ball looked cheap. I said NOPE! The auto parts store with actual good fuel line is next. I’ll let you know in a little while if the solution to the fuel starvations been solved or not. I’ll have more time when I catch a break from my truck driving job. 🤙🏼

@@CrappieKev it may not be fuel starvation, when I coil pack is cold it may run right when at full throttle it may not , when it heats up it may start failing faster , The CDI box if it has one will do same thing it will run good then when it heats up it scrambles . You can then pour bunch ice water on a CDI box and cool it back off a bunch an if it runs good again till till the CDI box gets hot then you know it’s that CDI box of it has one . Spark plug wires could be deteriorated and not handling full throttle load can be something so minor when you find it you’ll be like dammit lol 😂 .

Haha, buddy I tell ya; if I had the money, I wouldn’t hesitate to do a mercury swap. 😂 I’ve grown up torn between Yamaha and Mercury motors all my life. I’ve never been a big Evinrude fan, but I’ll have to give it credit that it’s a tough running motor when it wants to work right…… WHEN IT WANTS TO WORK RIGHT. 😂

I hurt feelings when they tell me crappie ain’t biting . Fish are opportunistic feeders . They feed everyday and will bite everyday . If you aren’t catching fish the problem persists above the water not below the water . An they get all grumpy then I go catch them and prove them wrong . Lol 😂

Hey Brent, fuel is probably problem, sounds like some of your fuel line is collapsed. If you have any of that grey fuel line, it is not the best, and I’d change it out. Hey, are you anywhere near me? I live in Melbourne FL, and usually fish St Johns or Lake Kissimmee. I have the hardest time finding the fish on the St. John’s. I use ramps going out hwy 520 off US1 in Melbourne, or going out hwy 192 from Melbourne put in at ramp at lone cabbage restaurant out 520 at county line, or camp Holly air boat rides on 192. Both places have a public access ramp. Do you ever fish over this way?

Hey Steve! Before I say anything else, I want to thank you for finding me and I appreciate you commenting about what the problem could be! So, in regards to the fuel line: It doesn’t have the grey line. It’s the normal good fuel line it really needs. But, what’s happened is there’s an inner liner that breaks down internally from the fuel sitting in it. The ethanol eats away at that inner liner; causing it to break up into little bits of debris and it eventually gets choked up between the fuel filter and the fuel line itself. Now to where I’m located: I’m not any familiar with Florida at all bud. I live in Knoxville, TN. Only times I’ve ever been in Florida is going to the beach for vacations. I wouldn’t mind fishing in Florida one day, but my lifestyle of having a family and a truck driving job makes that a very difficult task to complete from living in East TN. Are those lakes really good Crappie fishing spots?

If you have that stupid grey fuel line that box stores sale the inside is lined with plastic an it will break down an collapse inside the hose . Buy standard black 3/8 fuel line from parts house an make your own fuel line. To eliminate that issue . If you do have that grey pre made fuel line .

Luckily it’s not the grey fuel line. It’s actual marina fuel lines for boats. Even so, the inner liner must be eat up from the ethanol in the fuel just sitting in it. As mentioned, my hope is the auto parts store with actual good graded fuel lines can help solve that issue. Ontop of that, also cleaning out the fuel filter as well.

@@CrappieKev ah it may not be fuel line if you have good fuel line , but your standard black 3/8 fuel line for auto parts store works fine easy fix . An easily replaced if needed can build to length etc . You know already just offering ideas I know what it is like trying to find a problem that is not consistent enough to pin it down .
