Abingdon market isn't a market it's a load of s***te think I've been in once n walked back out. What's happened to all the markets we had in the last 20 yrs. To me a markets where you can buy meat n veg n stuff. Definitely people panic buy for 1 day it's pathetic. When I was a kid shops closed for a week and we just got on with it. Christmas to commercialised now all the magics gone. Thanks for another great video Stephen merry Christmas x

@@AngelaK-55 It seems recent history (Sunday trading began) though I know it isn't. Sadly we'll never have those days back. They still have half day trading for the market here, on thursdays. My sister moved to B'pool nearly 20 yrs ago. I love Blackpool it gets unfair negative publicity. Happy Christmas all Xx

Hi Stephen excellent video on a quiet Christmas 🌲 day in blackpool it is very quiet all the shops will be glad of day of peace and it is ridiculous I'm with a lot of people complaining about people panic buying some people don't realise the shops are closed for one day you should of seem Aldi was ridiculous only because Morrison's tills where down never again my going in a shop when it is like that were people fighting over a loaf of bread I can't believe how quiet blackpool is wetherspoons are only open for drink I'm hoping it is not going to busy to in the shops and excellent footage from the tram station and church street is quiet now sound of life thanks Stephen excellent video take care pal merry Christmas 🎄 from Keith 👍👍👍👍👍

On the subject of Blackpool markets: In the 1990’s the interior of the Woolworth building on the ‘front’, also contained a market of sorts. I recall there were lots of little stalls selling an interesting array of things. VHS videotapes were popular at the time. There were a couple of stalls selling those - mostly ex-video rental copies and dare I say it, some bootleg ones too. One stall I frequented sold coins, medals and US Air Force patches. I also remember an interesting stall near the main door at the front, which sold decorative Venetian style masks for interior décor which came in a fascinating range of colour schemes.

Some of the stall-holders are from continental Europe and pack up to go home for Christmas. I suppose they've also got to order their stuff from Temu and AliBaba for next year. There is something in Cathedral Gardens though.

I went to Blackpool for Christmas a few years ago Everyone was kicked out the hotels so they could prepare the dinners Virtually every shop and cafe was open Christmas Day…it was so strange to see it The promenade was full of people as were the shops cafes and pubs….happy memories

The sculpture in clifton street looked epic it would look great in my back garden lol i love any art like that and the telephone boxes are epic quite afew of them there theres 1 in irby village not far from me and theres an old red telephone box there its a mini library people donate books into it and people can take them for free but xafe 25 mabe theyre open for breakfasts or the staff are working for christmas lunches for the homless who knows but i can see those seagulls are not getting fed on christmas they look quite down in the dumps lol theyre such calming birds very quiet morning in blackpool this christmas day and i love the video of the christmas tree with blackpool tower in the background you should of photographed that it would make an epic postcard church street is great pleanty of great shops there by the looks of it marks and spencers food hall is a brilliant shop theyve got a good selectionof chocolate buiscuites and cream crackers and the red wine is nice in there its expensive but good quality but wow the hight of the tower as you walked upto it its an amazing part of blackpool the christmas market is on in liverpool till january i think last year it finished earky in december but i think some places stay open bit bad some close early nice calm beach today brilluant vlog steven enjoyed watching todays ❤️✋🗼👍🎄😊

Thanks Stephen, hope you're having a good Christmas. Seems very peaceful there, and the seagulls sound hungry. It's been a sunny one here in this part of the country with clear blue skies and temps got up to 13c, probably the warmest Christmas I have experienced, it was more like a warm spring day. The building from 1938 is a nice looking building. Once again Happy Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Frohe Weihnachten, Joyeux Noël. 🙂

You're right, it IS just another day. I'll let you in on one of the world's worst-kept secrets, namely, 'Christmas' doesn't really exist, it's all just an illusion, a social construct that has been created in our minds from when we were kids, but in reality, it IS just another day, you're absolutely correct. Notice how the build-up to Christmas (months ahead) seems to get so many people far more excited than the actual day itself? This is exactly how delusions work, they have to be built up in people's minds in order to try to make them seem like reality but they're never-never land, the end of the rainbow, that's all Christmas amounts to and yet year after year after year, people still fall for it and believe that somehow....SOMEHOW the day will be magical. It's nuts but, I guess we're all a bit crazy, so I'm not knocking anyone, I'm just pointing out what we all know deep down anyway. I mean, we all know Jesus Christ (if he existed at all) wasn't born on the 25th of December, right? And yet, we call it 'CHRISTmas', right? People many hundreds of years ago took what was just a pagan festival, celebrating the winter solstice and decided it would be a good idea to...uh..make it the day we celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ too and we've been doing that ever since. Now isn't that just totally bonkers? 😀

The Manchester Christmas markets have always closed before Christmas. This year, they were planned for 8th November ot 22nd December. A number of the stall holders came from continental Europe and would travel back home just before Christmas Day to be with their families. You're right though, business was down this year. The stallholders are blaming everything except the quality of their wares and the prices.

Cold it is anything but cold here in Adelaide. We endured a temperature of 39 and it was hot dammed hot. The prawns were cooked before hitting the barbie and the drinks were cool thank heavens. Keep up the videos I love watching them. Memories ❤❤❤
