In regards to Christmas decor. I usually only add a few things to my collection each year and I always declutter some out when going through my precious decor. It all keeps me reigned in when we are bombarded with so much decor in the store. And my parents always put colored lights on our trees as a kid so I do colored as well.

Picturing you as a little kid around your grandparents table and then seeing you now decorating it and continue their tradition in your own home all grown up just brought tears to my eyes. I always feel like I can just connect with you in your videos. They’re not just a decorating video, they actually have heart and meaning. I’ve had a pretty rough and chaotic day as a homeschool mom to three boys where everything just wasn’t going right. Attitudes and tensions were high. Sitting down with your videos on Tuesdays brings me so much peace and helps me reset. Thank you!! I’ve been here for years and even my kids know you because I also have a son named Liam who loves Minecraft. He even said, “I want to go to where they live and meet them and be their friends.” 🥰 You are special to our family!

“Focus on the senses. What do you want your children to see? smell? Hear? Taste? Feel?” I don’t know who said this, but it really helped me hone in on what I was striving for as far as memories for my children during this magical season. It can be so overwhelming to make it special. But if you focus on the senses, it allows you to see it from a minimal perspective. I want them to see a beautiful Christmas tree and decorations they recognize year after year. I want them to smell the baked goods and candles. Touch the wreathes and crafts we make. Hear the Christmas music. Taste great grandmas empire biscuits. It doesn’t have to be overwhelming ❤ Thanks for another fun cozy video!

When I was young I remember saying "I will never be too cool for colored lights" and sure enough as I matured, I found myself gravitating towards white lights, but I refused to abandon my younger self, so for over 15 years I've been wrapping the inside of the tree, closer to the trunk with colored lithts and white on the outside. I love it! It has the elegance of the white lights with the beautiful sparkles of color shining out from the inside. It's beautiful! I love that you have discovered that style too. 🎄

I grew up in a colored lights household. We even had bubble lights on our tree growing up. And our tree was filled with colorful kid craft project ornaments, things my mom’s students gave her, and a collection of Santas riding various animals. But as an adult, I like white lights and while my tree is still full of handmade ornaments and things I’ve picked up traveling, I have a color scheme of natural tones plus red and white. I live in a small space, and having a defined color scheme just feels less chaotic to me.

What fantastic and refreshing video. Your videos are so inspiring and have a cozy feel to them. I had to watch the tree assembly twice because your kids were having such a great time - from helping to decorate to playing in the tree storage bag (that made me laugh). How thankful I am for the way that you share the things you do and that you obviously have such a deep love for God and your family. I know you must be an amazing friend to have. Same country, same kind of lights, but a fake tree. We do decorate later in the year (this year it’ll be the first weekend of December) but I think we keep our decorations longer (until at least the 6th of January. I was surprised the first time I realised some Americans found it natural to un-decorate the day after Christmas - or at least it felt so!) That being said, some municipalities around us have begun to install tgeir lights, even thoigh they’re not yet lit.
@jaclynmoylan1905 Жыл бұрын
I do white lights because it seems less chaotic to me, but I do like to look at the trees with colored lights at friends and family’s houses. For me at home to see it every day, white is more calming 🤷♀️

I have 2 trees for our house. One I got when I was in uni and the other is the "grown up" tree. My tree has ALL the lights. White, colour, and last year led change lights that can be programmed that I spent a lot on. Buy are awesome. The "grown up" one has 1 set of both cool and warm white led lights. Decor wise my tree looks like a unicorn vomited glitter all over it, anything goes as long as I like it, and the house one is neutrals and pastel natural colours.

We call the kids section of the table “The Riff Raf Table”. It’s something my dad grew up with. Thanksgiving to me is 40 people in “the studio”, an uninsulated room off of a family home with a huge fireplace, covered with art, a piano in the corner, looking over the Atlantic in Maine. We gather around that fireplace after a family football game on the beach, with pie and coffee and guitars. Family is magic, I hope you can enjoy time with yours oh so much 🤍

A warm ans lovely Hello from Germany 🥰🎄I love your Christmas decoration videos. In my family we have special traditions. We still decorate after the “death Sunday”. Our Christmas tree is a real tree, he moved into our living room not before the 22. December and stays there till the 6. January. My favorite colors are red, green and white. Except in the Entry there are the main colors white and grey.There will be a Scandinavian winter wonderland. Most of my traditions are from my Grandparents, and I hope they always have a big smile in their faces when they see from above that their traditions are still alive. My girls are 20, 16 and 13 and they are obsessed with this season, our traditions and all the little surprises I will do in this time😍. I wish you, your family and everyone who read this a peaceful and joyful season. 🎄🥰
