I found you and your mom several years ago. I believe the year you were married. I'm happy that you're reusing some of last year's items. Most if us can't afford to do what you do. We decorate our entire house. Inside and out! We were married at Christmas so it's a big deal for us.

Growing up in the late 60’s and into the 70’s, my mother decorated the living room and we had a wreath on the front door. I emulated that pattern for quite a few years but it switched to spreading things out a bit through the house. I try to balance it out: if the decorations are too sparse it’s a bit drab but, the more that is put up, the bigger let-down the un-decorating project is in early January. So, the living room is still the main spot and I like small touches throughout the other rooms. It’s festive without being overwhelming.

I have usually done the living room, my bedroom and my office. Due to illness last year and this year, it will probably only be my bedroom but it looks gorgeous with white and icy blue ornaments, big velvet reindeer and battery operated candles everywhere. The office gets a peacock theme. The living room is my husband's aesthetic, he likes old fashioned classics, multicolor flashing lights, lots of colorful ornaments, stockings on the hearth and at the top of the tree...a teddy bear!

Multiple rooms. We put a full size tree in the palafium window above the front door. Large platform with plugs and spot light already there. In the neighborhood the kids call it the Christmas tree house. Entrance stairway, bannisters and entrance table with retro ceramic white tree surrounded by carolers. Living room on back of the house. Big tree, fireplace mantle and coffee table, dining room table & another skinny tree due to picture window on front of the house. Small trees in bedrooms 4, small tree on kitchen sideboard breakfast table set with Christmas linens and dishes Christmas dish towels and hot pads. Bathrooms have small ceramic trees or themed soap dispensers and towels, Wreaths on inside doors. Wreaths outside on 7 Windows and 1 door. Yeah I over do it but my 3 grandchildren and families live with me. We're making memories and it looks lovely .

I'm 60 years old and downsized to a much smaller house so I don't have the space for as much as usual. My new normal ... decorate the small front door space (inside and outside), the fireplace mantel, the tree and a touch of Christmas in the kitchen. I've purged so much holiday decor to family and friends and have taken a minimalist approach. Love it!

Love the look this year. What I use to attach lights to my railing without damage is fishing line. Very inexpensive and strong and it has never failed, even using it outside in extreme cold. Snip it off at the end of the season.

I decorate the main living spaces (entry, living, family, dining, and kitchen). My kids have their own trees if they would like to put it up in their bedrooms. I leave it to them. If it gets too much for me, I sometimes skip an area of my choosing. I start decorating this week! So excited!!!

I really like it, it’s really classy and cohesive but I personally cannot do Christmas without red… just my opinion… definitely decorating most of the house, I have 2 little girls and I do a mini tree in each of their room and they match their bedrooms vibes… my living room theme is kinda nutcracker British vibe with traditional tartan patterns and touches of blue mixed in the traditional red, white and gold! 😘

I certainly do love your entryway! The bears are a favourite for sure, such a fun touch! I decorate most of my home and this year I am doing an organic touch with willow and birch tree cuttings in large planters at the entrance of my walk leading to my home. They won't be heavily decorated but some sparkle and ribbons and bows will be added in for sure.

We had a huge house before this tiny apartment.. Every room was at least decorated with lit up greenery on the window sill.. we had a tree in each bedroom.. living room and kitchen.. little trees here and there..

I love the ribbon. My daughter scored tons of ribbon and yarn off of Marketplace for 10 bucks, so I hope she has the color I’m looking for. Fireplace mantle is where the other bells are. I have some life like fuzzy furry deer that I use around the house as my extra! They are on my dining table for Thanksgiving. They may get moved to the mini forest for Christmas! I love the garland so much!

I decorate, pretty much, every room, but I’ve only got a small English house. As a bit of a germ freak I put natural greenery in the downstairs cloakroom and bathroom. That way it goes straight into the compost bin in January. I have to say due to reducing plastics I’m either trying to buy secondhand or recycle-able/compostable decorations and wrappings.
