I love the special nuance that you gave to a relatively monochromatic creation by adding layers of paper, ephemera and shades of neutral colour. What a stunning make. I also liked your “Luise” talk to remind us to take the time to appreciate our creations. 🤗🇨🇦🤗

I could listen to you all day discuss the love, art, challenges of JJ'ing. I have some family that doesn't understand this art and it does make me sad. This piece is amazing. I love everything about it. The color and texture are impeccable. Thank you for the inspiration. I think I need to make one-off to watch the other envelope projects you have on your channel ❤

I am in awe...as always. What an amazing creation. All those little details....just wow.🥰 And something caught my attention and triggered a memory when you mentioned Book Darts. 20:15 I'm pretty sure that I know what you mean. I got some from a company called Levenger MANY years ago. I had forgotten about that company and quickly looked them up. Yep, they still exist. Lovely bookish things.❤ And they still carry those little bookmarks, but they call them nibs, rather than darts. So thank you for walking us through your Christmas journal, and thank you for reminding me of book darts and a luscious bookish company that I had forgotten about.❤📚

“FESTIVE GRUNGE” is what I’d like to call this project (you referred to that early in the video & I really like that!) During your discussion of using repetition, you were saying it is “harmonious”....I would say it is “pleasing to the eye”.....that form of artistry is so beautiful and you nailed it!! Another awesome project!! TYFS!! ❤️🦋💜

Please know how much I appreciate your effort at sharing in English as I can only imagine how challenging that can be. I know I would never be able to master German. Please don’t be so hard on yourself when you find yourself struggling to find the exact word you want. You are doing amazing! And I think I can safely say we know what you are trying to communicate. Your comments at the end of the video about importance of taking time to admire and appreciate our creations got me thinking. I am never confident that my creation can be considered beautiful or art... and because of that lack of confidence I always follow the rule I made for myself-the creation must be practical, functional. This way it will never be seen by anybody as my attempt to create art but simply as decorating (for reinforcement and other similar banal purposes) something that I needed. And I am at peace this way.
@luiseheinzl Жыл бұрын
It's great to get a feedback like yours, thanks! It's also great that you could find peace, but please, please, please.... never underestimate yourself! If you can see art in your creations, others will see it as well. Believe me, I have been there!

SANTA: When I saw Tim match them up on the video I thought ... WOW ... Luise is amazing! Really cool that it was a coincidence - and YOU ARE AMAZING! TEXTURE: YES! These should definitely have texture, whether actual or just implied. I always add texture, in some way, to my art! XMAS TREE DIE CUT: I don't get excited about Xmas decor so much, and I love this project because it's NOT red/green. But the way you used that tree is genius and I'm going to purchase that die cut just based on what you showed here! Because I love it as just a tree ... and not necessarily a Xmas tree. MY PROJECTS: I (typically) LOVE my projects! And when I finish it I will go through it multiple times just marveling at how much I love it. I've been making quilts for over 30 years (working full-time with kids most of that time) and should have learned by now that you should give these types of gifts to people who "get it"! But, when I first started making junk journal things last fall (2022) I made one for a friend who's more of a scientist. I made it with her in mind ... with lots of personal touches ... and she was kind of like ... huh?! When she left my house she didn't take it with her ... I mentioned it to her in a text. She has never asked about it again ... so I just kept it. I love it! That's what matters! (Side note: I don't really like to exercise. I bought a "step" at a resale shop and started doing step aerobics to Rolling Stones concert ... but, I could never get the "moves like Jagger"! Holy Cow! So now I'm doing the step aerobics to yours and/or Barbara's (49Dragonflies) video's! It makes the time go sooo much faster! Thank you!)

It is a sprig of pine or a little branch 😊 you were right the first time. A small one, but still a branch. Although a sprig is probably most accurate “a small stem bearing leaves or flowers, taken from a plant. Eg "a sprig of holly"” Your great English still blows me away btw. I really should work on becoming fluent in French. I can read a lot of it, but it’s just spoken so quickly it’s hard to understand. Wish we all had a second language & understanding of another culture. Would hopefully make the world a better place

Unfortunately I haven't filmed my process of how I made the box. But that's totally easy. Just take the book cover and glue pieces of cardboard to those sides that shall be closed. Decorate with some paper, and there you go
