Christmas eve boxes, what to put inside a Christmas Eve box

I did this for my kids when they were growing up. I did not use a box, but I would turn down their beds, put out new Christmas pajamas. Their father is Catholic and he always wanted us all to go to midnight mass Christmas Eve. When we got home the kids put on their new PJs, they were allowed to open one small gift, I made hot chocolate and their Dad read them the book, "The night Before Christmas". Then off to bed. I love the idea of the Christmas Eve Box! We lost my Mom in June and this will be our first Christmas without her. She would always go all out for Christmas. I wanted to start some "new" traditions for my daughters (14 and 16) who miss their Grandma terribly. I know they will love getting Christmas Eve Boxes! ❤️🎄. Heading to Target tonight! I've never done Christmas eve boxes before but when my children were young they always had new pjs and slippers on Christmas eve. Then we would turn off the telly, light little candles all along the mantelpiece and put on some Christmas carols. Then we would take a family photo. Happy memories x

I'm new to you channel and have been watching your videos over several days and absolutely love them. I must say here in Queensland Australia we tend to have very hot Christmases so rather than a hot bath it's a swim in the pool to cool off. But I love the idea of the hot bath with all the smelly stuff and comfy PJs and the Xmas box idea is great

We did similar when I was a child but each child got to open a present on Christmas Eve. Mom had selected presents for each of us to open that would sorta be like what you put in your box. Examples were one child might get a movie for us all to watch, another might get hot chocolate kits, another might get jigsaw puzzles. We did it as a family instead of individual. Very good idea for families with kids. Merry Christmas to you!

In my beautiful enchanted (& recovering) Puerto Rico we have a tradition on three kings day, Jan. 6, aka Little Christmas, where the night before parents tell their children to place a box with hay underneath their beds. This is an offering to the camels the 3 kings traveled on. When the kids are sleeping, the camels eat the hay or grass & the wise men leave a gift for the child of any type. I wish you a blessed & joyous Christmas with loved ones. You're a sweet soul. Many presents I'm sure are headed your way. You can be naughty after.

I just discovered your channel a few days ago, and I've been binge watching because your vlogs are so cute!! I luv your home and watching you travel around. I've done boxes like these, but never heard of them having a name. I do a "cozy night in a box" for my girlfriends when we exchange for Christmas. I look for Christmas containers at the craft store on sale after the Holiday and hang on to them for the next year. I always put in a Christmas theme book, tea or cocoa, fuzzy socks and whatever I can find to fit the theme, because I love curling up with a hot drink and a good mystery.

I always do this with my mum, and she does one for me. Last year I got us matching pjs, a baths bomb, mugs, chocolates and some Christmas socks. My sister thinks it’s weird for me, a 13 year old, to be spending £100s on my mum at Christmas ( I save up birthday money and pocket money). I just think it’s so important as a child to show your parents how much gratitude you have for them, and she’s been through so much to keep us safe, and through some really really hard times. I love her so much and Christmas and Mother’s Day is a time to show her. Sorry that this is a little long, but I feel like it’s important to share with everyone that you never know how long someone has left and what’s going to happen. I live by the message of If they left today, would you hate yourself for not spending enough time with them. I’m watching this now to get prepared and start my budgeting 😂😂😂 LOVE THIS VIDEO 💕💕💕💕

Merry Christmas Catherine!!! I've never heard of a Christmas Box, it's such a wonderful tradition. One of the Christmas traditions my family has is we get a Happy Birthday Jesus cake from the bakery. On Christmas night when it's time for dessert and we all gather around the table we light a candle on the cake, turn off all the other lights and then we all sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and the youngest child gets to blow out the candle. We've done this tradition since the 1970's when my family became Christian. It's so sweet to do on Christmas night because the day is so busy that when we do this it reminds us again why we're celebrating. I've so enjoyed your videos and I'm so glad I stumbled onto them this year. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas day!

I think my favorite Christmas movie is The Stranger. Have you seen that? It wasn't mainstream popular, but such a beautiful story line. Miracle on 34th Street...the old one, and the newer one. They are both good. Such a lovely story. And of course.... It's a wonderful life. Old old old. But, well... wonderful. 🤣 I know this is an old post. What a great idea for kids of all ages! This would be good for those who are alone/elderly/shut ins too. A few treats, some tea, a mug, a book or magazine, some cute holiday napkins, paper plates...maybe even a mini Christmas tree...might cheer someone up. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas Catherine! PS If I had to choose one fave Christmas movie it'd have to be A Christmas Story. But Home Alone and Christmas Vacation would run a close second. Not a movie, but I also love A Charlie Brown Christmas, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Rudolph, and Frosty. Almost forgot Miracle on 34th Street, It's A Wonderful Life and White Christmas. I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting.

I found a 16 pc vintage china dishes for $3, pink vase for $1, 2 shabby chic boudoir lamps for $1 each, and a village cookie jar which I will paint white. Love💕 We do this for Christmas Eve. I have beautiful large winter wonderland gift bags this year (2018). We do soft cozy pajamas, slippers or warm footies, bath sets, & soft blankets. We do other little odds and ends. Then we all wear our new pajama sets on Christmas morning!

Another great video. I give and have done for years the kids a Christmas Eve gift bag. I put Christmas pajamas, fluffy socks or slippers, some sweets and a book into each bag. They absolutely love it and look forward to getting there bags on Christmas Eve. I feel that they get enough toys etc so instead of a pressie from Mam and dad they get there bag instead. Last year I made one for my husband and now he wants a Christmas Eve bag ever year🤣🤣🎄🎅🏻.
