I bought a brand dolmar 5100s in 2006. It was a great saw. Pulled the muffler for the first time this year to look at the piston and it looked like new.

I have an older SOLO but it's technically a model that no one's rushing out to snag up since it's just a smaller saw. That and it doesn't say SOLO on it. The saw itself is a Homelite 290 but from what I read it was made for Homelite by SOLO and is a SOLO 647 done up in Homelite red & black. It's incredibly grungy and needs to be fully torn down and cleaned but it does run. I got it from a local second-hand store a few years ago for cheap. The carb also needs to be fully rebuilt. I bought it because I'm a fan of Homelite's and it's not something you see all the time. The Homelite's you see the most are the vintage ones that are Made In USA. :)

Nice vid Rich, find it hard how you'd destroy a 8010/9010. I've had mine for over 2 or more years and not missed a beat. Still on original air filter/ fuel filter, though I do keep my fuel clean, the only thing I've broke was the blower tube end by standing on it when was in the back of the cab😂. I bought a short block for a 2620 multi tool as the spark plug electrode broke and scored the cylinder, even though it's still running after stripping and cleaning and sanding the score, waiting for it to go pop and fit the short block. I ordered sb from dukes and it was cheaper to buy that and post it here as they don't sell shortblocks in uk and I'd have to buy the parts separately which was ridiculously expensive would be cheaper to buy a new machine🙄. Damn nice dolly.... good buy rich👌

Mine had alot of issues with spark plug boot wire..otherwise has ran great and have 7910..it's my stick rake ..everything rake
