❤ I really need a love button instead of just a thumbs up button. I so enjoyed all this video (like I enjoy all your videos). And I'm so thankful there are real people like you Jeri, even though very rare, who not only appreciate old things from the past, you preserve them, enjoy them, make them a part of your everyday life and you share them in such a way that they seem to be very normal and livable, and not so exceptional they need to be guarded in a museum. So many of us just throw things away when they get a bit worn or tattered and even when we appreciate seeing them in the care of others we don't want the responsibility of taking care of them ourselves. Thank you for sharing that with us. I also love all your decorations! Where I live there are so few evergreen things in nature. I have one juniper a former owner planted and one native cedar, and that's it. I'm trying to plant some things, some boxwood and ivy, and I hope to plant much more so in the future I will have lots of evergreens to choose from for decorations. But! I love that you take what you have and add color to it, or preserve plants when they have color to add to later decor. In the fall I made a large wreath out of common "broomweed" which has tiny yellow flowers and was growing everywhere. It actually turned out very pretty, so I will be doing more in future autumns, and it's dried nicely to a brown color. I am now thinking I will try spray painting it green!! I was planning to just compost it anyway, so it can't hurt to try!! I may even go out to the field and find some other dried bits to spray paint with colors to tuck into it! You are such an inspiration!!! Thank you so very much for this video and all the aspects of your life which you bless us with. Thank you!! 💚

15 years ago we planted a row of Holly bushes specifically to use in Christmas decor. They really came into their own a few years back, but only once have they produced the red berries Its just fine to spray paint color on your dried flowers and buds, sometimes its the only way to get the yellows and reds you need.
