Hey girl! new sub! I found you through your recent body horror iceberg videos (loved them btw) and I've been jumping around through your older videos and I gotta say you are an instant favorite horror creator here on youtube! Loved the first CoTC movie when I was a kid (well... terrified by it would be more accurate) and it was one of my gateways into Stephen King. When I was older and had more access to movies online and found out there were nearly 5 or 6 at the time sequels I was baffled, having read the story and seen the first film. Never actually watched them cause I assumed they were horrible so thank you for scratching the morbid curiosity for me hahaha

I am a die hard fan of body horror and Daddy Cronenberg lol but somehow there's still new The Stuff (get it) to discover! Taxidermia, The Eyes Of My Mother, and in general more surrealistic approaches really caught my attention!

I'm pretty sure it's Belial, not Benile, in Basket Case.

Street Trash to me is simply a Troma movie without Lloyd Kaufman's name attached. The original.

I'm not a huge fan of basket case. Honestly I don't really like it much at all. I'm always shocked at how much credit it gets. His other movies are way better.

absolutely love the subject from vhs94!! almost saw my friends dad faint trying to watch it with us when i put it on one movie night- sorry steve!! but i loved the cyborgs so much. anything about experiments reclaiming their right to exist always gets me in the heart. also greatly enjoyed getting to see clips from and analysis of taxidermia too, have always been interested in it, but i know i have to keep it blacklisted for p00p content- my one and only Hard No in movies. so excited for part 3!!

Well I was just planning out the outline of my body horror vampire transformation story thinking I was so original and now I learned that Afflicted is a thing 😅 (I feel like I have heard of it before and forgot it exists though) I finished the first iceberg video a while ago and I love it (and this one, though I'm only at Afflicted) although my face started to itch a few minutes ago (like for real, I'm not joking) and now I'm paranoid lol

I’m SO happy Antiviral was mentioned because it’s one of my favorite body horrors/films in general & it’s criminally underrated for being a Baby Cronenberg film😂 I recently rewatched it for the first time in years & it’s scary that the message feels more relevant and rooted in reality as time goes on, especially the themes of celebrity exploitation and obsessive fans. Also, it’s funny realizing how many horror movies feature parasites as a public health professional since parasites in general aren’t even what I fear the most. Variant prion diseases (like Mad Cow for humans) and the rabies virus are WAY scarier in my opinion.

Appreciate your descriptions, there's so many horror films out there I don't have time to try all of them. To me the scary part of body horror is in odor/filth, then pain/trauma, with appearance at the bottom, because I really don't see anything as deformed anymore. Like what's going on on your face (hopefully not debilitating) can be seen as kind of decorative or even a fashion --in case you can't get rid of it, just saying.

Hear me out. I would put "Let me in" in body horror. That kid that gets possessed gets legit messed up. He chromecast the main character, but he gets screwed up and he has no choice in it. And they did an insane job with the makeup. Probably the best messed up makeup in recent horror.

Cannibal Holocaust absolutely nailed the message! Green Inferno was trash and has a totally different message. Baffled by that entire rundown here.

while i love Wes Craven, i couldn't sit through his Swamp Thing... HOWEVER, the show from a few years ago, featuring Derek Mears as Swamp Thing, is a TRULY GREAT SHOW... PLENTY of body horror, and perhaps a better exploration of concepts Craven wasn't able due to budget & technology back in '82. have you seen Swamp Thing?

Enjoy the content. From Beyond involved personal body mutation, the growth of the pineal gland, tentacle coming out of his forehead etc, mutilation/transformation of a living body, where as Re-Animator was basically a zombie movie, I'm assuming that's why one was on the list and the other was not though there's a good argument for Re-Animator being 'body horror' it doesn't strictly fit the description.

Amazing! Great to see some love for Taxidermia, that film is a fun one that I hope more people check out. If you include those Tetsuo sequels there's 11 films here I haven't seen yet (though most don't look that appealing 😆) so thank you for suffering through them for me! The 'H' pronunciation lead me to look up its origins and man, there's some crazy warring religious sect story to go along with it. Didn't think that'd be the outcome of me watching this video but here we are!
