After my brother passed away, my moms church stepped in with hot food and groceries, blankets and pillows when my mom couldn't stay in the home where it happened... that year I received a bike and many other gifts from the church, and on a year when we wouldn't have had anything... I'm eternally grateful

But if people are getting help every year and they have no incentives to help themselves then why have the rich people sponsoring them or anyone. I have a 28 year old nonverbal autistic son who is mildly intellectually challenged and I have had help a few times during Christmas time but I worked part time even when on disability and my ex husband had other things that he wanted and would not help with the rent so I divorced him after 33 years

M Paxton, while I didn't thumb it down, I did stop watching & was put off by a few things, so I'll share my reason (and perhaps it answers your question as to why at least some didn't like it). Clearly it was done with a very Christian only viewpoint. When that one woman was talking about how she hoped the woman who lost her baby would accept Jesus as her only savior as that is the only way she would be reunited with her baby I was NOT happy. I was not raised a Christian, BUT I fully believe in G-d, Heaven, and that I TOO will be reunited with my loved ones after death. That woman's comments were unintentionally quite hurtful and dismissive to those of us of other religions. That's just one possible reason....hope it provides some insight. That said, these folks are doing a great job helping where MUCH help is needed, and that is awesome!!!

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 10:9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. Romans 10:9 Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." 📖🙏📖🙏📖🙏📖🙏📖🙏 This message is insight into her religious background. She is a true believer, she really did not mean to hurt anyone's feelings. She is a holy lady therefore she is trying so hard to continue Jesus Christ's work. She said a statement that she believes is completely true with all her heart. When the holy spirit enters into you something happens to the human heart, to be more specific this is a passage from the holy bible (Ezekiel 36:26 "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh). although you may not believe it, that woman has lived it, she has experienced the true power of the trinity. Father, Son & the holy Spirit has been with her since she accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and Lord. He lives in her. He works through her and she, well she has had the absolute blessing of being able to serve her almighty one true God. Jesus Christ is LOVE and his love is best described in these two passages from the holy bible #1 (John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.") #2 ( 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.") 📖🙏📖🙏📖🙏💜🐇❤ . . . Hebrews 13:16 "Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. Philippians 2:4 "Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others." Luke 6:38 "Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Galatians 6:2 "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." 1 John 3:17 "But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?" Proverbs 19:17 "Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed." Acts 20:35 "In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Matthew 25:35-40 "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?" 🙏📖🙏📖🙏 Those are passages from the Christian bible I thought might coincide with your own belief. God bless you & have a peaceful day Ellen.

Why do people always have to bring up celebrities. What does one have to do with the other? Why are you people so threatened by them?😂 A “real Christian” doesn’t try to put themselves on a pedestal over others.

I was so blessed watching this video. I gave my heart back to the Lord while watching this, seeing Christians in action spreading the love of God, the love of Christ to these people to these precious people. I would never want to give my money to these huge Ministries I see on Christian TV. I don't want to give my money to a mega church ministry I see on television. I'd rather give my money to people like this who are doing God's work in a holy way to show his love toward people who are hurting in many ways. I think you for uploading this video I thank God for all of you, in Jesus' name I pray amen...

My grandmother and her family came from Crawford Hollow in Tennessee. They were Crawfords too, they all came to Kosse, Texas when my grandmother was a child, along with her brothers. My father told me that my PaPa Lisman told him , MawMaw didn't ever have Christmas growing up, so besides presents my PawPaw made sure MawMaw had a peppermint stick every Christmas until he passed away. Then we started giving her peppermint sticks until my MawMaw passed away in 1977.

Everyday people in America are so generous when it comes to great things like this. It's not the Government doing anything, just good people giving. These people who are in need should be helped to have a better life and there are people who can see to this. Thank all of the people with this organization and to all who have given. There are so many people out there who live in dreadful poverty and it shouldn't happen in America.

I realize this is an old video with old comments, but I'd like to point out that things are just as hard in the cities. I'm from the poorest of the big cities- Philadelphia. The difference is we have easier access to social services but that doesn't make things that much easier. The point I'm making is that suffering from poverty is universal.
@gocelinedion
@gocelinedion 4 жыл бұрын
I agree, poverty in inner cities is terrible. However, poverty in rural America seems to me to go more unnoticed than urban poverty. It seems to me that people who live in poverty in rural America do not have as well of access to social services and programs. Inner city poverty is an issue but is often better than Appalachian poverty.

Glad your eyes were finally opened. Some of those in power would lead you to believe that it is only minorities and immigrants who need help. It couldn't be further than the truth. And there are plenty of facts to back it up. But it's always easier to villianize those who look different. Or blame them for taking what's rightfully yours.

I don't think it's selfish, if more people thought that way our country would be a lot stronger............i'm not saying don't help people. Everybody needs help at some point but this type of help is now generational support and that is because these people have allowed themselves to become so dependent upon outside help that they are no longer capable of helping themselves. Help should be a temporary thing until people get back on their feet and are once again capable of taking care of themselves. Help is not supposed to last forever.

Blazing Frankenstein start using condoms, it is easier said than done, I know, but I just can't understand these are people that don't believe in abortion and that every child is a blessing, but when these children are hungry, without education, no hope and just sad all the time,,,where is the blessing in that?

If Australia lacks the poverty we have here stateside, you guys are blessed indeed. Our leaders here in the States have abandoned working people. The Liberals are obsessed with saving the world, and pretty much have forgotten poor rural Americans such as the good people in this video.

@ 33:50 I think God can overlook the fact that this couple isn't married considering this woman stepped in to raise someone else's children. She gets chastised for not being married to a guy when he's not even around. Christ would probably be okay if you leave your sanctimony at the door for this one.

This is amazing! I sure hope these people are still blessing families with Gods Word, food and gifts! I think more people should do this with their churches help and anyone with the means to help. I’ve always wanted to be able to be a part of a group doing this, but God has a different road for me and my husband right now. Maybe someday it will happen. 🙏❤️

I've always said, if I had plenty of money ( like some people I've seen ), I'd make sure these families had brand new homes for thier families. I've been poor all my life and I'm in my 50's now and I know how it feels to be in these situations. It is not that I didn't work hard, because I have. I never got to own my own home, but my children were feed, had a home, school clothes, Christmas' , and birthdays, so I'd say we were pretty blessed. I've kept my faith in Jesus every since I was a little girl. He may not have blessed me with money, but he's blessed me to have a heart. No one should ever be homeless, especially children. What you guys are doing for these families and these children is such a blessing. You are God's angles. I PRAY that they have been blessed and protected even more ever since this video was made. I pray these blessings continue. God bless you all. 🙏🙌✝️🤗😘🥰🥰🥰

Anyone else notice the prevalence of truck drivers in these poor families? Anyone that has driven a truck for a living knows how challenging and stressful the life of an over the road driver is. There is definitely good money to be made out there if one drives safely and can get in plenty of miles, but, overall, trucking companies grossly underpay their drivers.

I'd like to see these children get a program that teaches them about who they are. They need to know the history of their ancestors to give them the sense of pride and feeling of self-worth they so desperately need. I'd like to see them have lessons on their history; how the mountain people have been over-represented in every war in this country. How their sharp-shooting forebears were instrumental in settling the country and building a nation. If not for the backwoodsmen learning Native American guerrilla tactics, hand-to-hand combat, and the expert use of a rifle, the American Revolution might not have been won. I'd like to see the children taught some of the old self-sufficient ways; farming, food preservation, woodworking, quilting/sewing, beekeeping, home building, well digging, etc. There has to be more for these people to do and they have a very proud history of self sufficiency. It can be brought back into being.

My family andnI live in MD Appalachia. We don't have central heat so we heat with wood we collect off of the mountain. We have a well and we have a very large garden. We can and dry as much food as possible. Our landlord brings us a deer once a year. I can it up too. I buy apples in LA crates and can them up. I buy sales meats and can them up. When Thanksgiving turkey sales come around, I can them up too. But gardening is not easy at all. Pests and bad weather can wipe something out over night. Also deer are rampant in these mountains. After the great depression, the deer population dwindled, but now they are back. If you can't afford a decent tall fence for garden, don't even bother planting. We cut 8 foot posts from the mountains and bought fencing that is 6 foot tall. We can plant now. It took a while of saving and planning to afford that fence.

It is easy to see who does not know Christ and His love. I have been to Haiti twice and WV once. People are people. They do the best they can with what they know. If jobs and a college education solved the problems; we would not have this misconception of how life is to be lived. These families love each other. For those who judge them. You have no idea what they have faced for generations. If money was the answer, people in Hollywood would not be killing themselves. Rich people are the world's most unhappy people. There is never enough. What a blessing it is to give time to the poor. Our president ( of any party) cannot fill the deepest need of the human race. Only Jesus Christ can.

For those chastising those unmarried couples , I’ll quote Jesus “ He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her” . Yes they are sinning , but maybe with these people helping , they can talk to them about Jesus , they will see Christ’s love in what these people do , then maybe they will understand they are sinning, and they will get married.
