When I was in college, we organized the Santa Lucia dinner. It was to celebrate our Swedish fellow students. It was then I was introduced to herring in sour cream. It took a bit of getting used to but I ended up loving it.

My dad always say it, and if it was bad, my mom would ask him to answer honestly because she wanted to improve, and make him (and us, her kids) and even better one. Sometimes, he would tell her in what ways she could improve but in the end he would say, "My love, they are delicious either way. Don't worry." They are so cute! 🥰

I think a lot of us used to do things for the holidays that we really didn’t do in our young adult years, the one thing I’ve tried to keep every year was making cookies for Christmas- which this year our last two teenagers helped with( I was so happy) . Why is it so hard for you dough to rise( is it because of the climate in China)? It can be a bit frustrating when this doesn’t happen- but just remember it is the effort from you that matters. Look at Sansan he is growing to a young boy, good helper and just so happy. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas for your family! This video made my day and now I’m happy! Always liked your videos. Loved your baking and cooking too. Have never known Swedish food before you showed us. Thanks a million. And yes. Making bread like bakes cannot use eggs and yes use warm water with the yeast. And add some sugar to activate it. Use about 10gms to 15gms of yeast to a kilo of flour and you'll be fine. For half a kilo or 500gm of flour I would usualy use 7gms just in case.

I've never lived in a high altitude area, so I haven't experienced first-hand the difference of baking at high altitudes. We have learned, however, that climate definitely affects some of our favorite baking and cooking. We live in such a hot and humid area that "room temperature" butter is melted, and dough tends to be sticky and not hold its shape....recently tried to make Pavlova, which is apparently not ideal in our climate, but it tasted good even if it wasn't quite what it ought to have been!
