Ohh so sweet of you to do a video about Ireland at Christmas. I & so many other Irish are honoured you keep coming back here and mentioning us especially that you & J make such a big effort to showcase more than the typical stuff

I absolutely loved that you covered the toy show. The charity appeal is beautiful. It started during COVID and usually raises about 6 million euro for children's charities, bearing in mind that's more than the population of Ireland

i really fell in love with Ireland after my trip at the end of October for Halloween celebration. Although I think Irish people are very friendly and fun every time, and Dublin is always a good idea. Another important thing to do: GO TO AN IRISH PUB!!! You can drink a beer and sing Christmas songs with Irish people and breathe and the real atmosphere.

Up until the 1960s goose was the traditional dish. Not as common now but still there. It's a quite the operation cooking one as they are huge and you need a deep roasting rack because of all the goose fat. Totally worth it though as it is liquid gold for roast potatoes and veggies. Nom.

Yes, turkey and ham is the most popular combination across the country. Spiced beef is most commonly served in Cork. You can buy it at the English Market.

Mark, great video. But as a fellow traveler who enjoys his beer, I have to point out that you misspelled Guinness! Someone else already pointed out Stephen (which is my name) vs Steven. Late late Toy Show is great. Check out the episode with Michael Moloney singing in honor of his deceased father... it will touch your heart. Thanks!

It depends, there are different varieties. Some are dense like a fruit loaf, some are soft and fluffy. Most have a marzipan or white frosting. Generally they will have citrus, sweet dried fruits like raisins and cherries and nuts like almonds with spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. Some have Whisky, Sherry or Rum, some don't, its personal preference. Homemade ones are always the best, cafe or market bought can be quite good. Store bought ones are usually garbage and should be avoided.

It’s called the Republic of Ireland. Northern Ireland is different and have no interest in being part of the republic. Important to make the distinction.
@seantoner739211 ай бұрын
It’s actually not called the Republic of Ireland, only in football. It states it clearly in the constitution that the name of the state is Ireland, or Éire in Irish. “The Republic of Ireland” is a British invention.
