Hello! I’m Vivienne, the châtelaine of a small 19th century neo-Renaissance castle in the Loire Valley of France, which I share with my delightful (and wonderfully funny!) husband, Simon, our daughter, and -whenever possible- lovely friends and family.
This is not our first chateau! 23 years ago, we bought a much larger castle nearby, which we loved with all our hearts. However, nearly 2 decades, many happy memories, countless renovations, and several small fortunes later, we made the very difficult, empty-nesting decision to downsize. With great luck and perseverance, we found our current petit château, which we are now decorating and updating with love, humour, comfort, and -of course- antiques and art!
We adore France and its many unique facets: its people, culture, landscapes, wine, food, art, and history. We also love being surrounded by châteaux, both public and private, which we can explore together! After 20 years here, we have learned many things about living in France, renovating châteaux, and appreciating the extraordinary riches surrounding us. We originally decided to make these videos as a way to share our lives with our loved ones worldwide during the pandemic lockdowns. However, we soon realised that many others are at home alone, and it is our privilege to open our home to you, our new friends. We hope you will join us on our adventures in this exceptional location, and we look forward to sharing a little Château Love!

I agree with you - I love this channel and I also like the travel segments. I get to revisit places I have already travelled to or make notes of where I would like to visit the next time we are there. I want to go Christmas shopping in Paris. I would probably only come home with the felt ornaments because they are my favorite because they are less likely to break in storage or when they fall off the tree. My niece was just doing an exchange semester in Paris and she only posted photos of her with alcohol...nice to see the actual beautiful Parisian Christmas decor!

Wow! You all have so much! All fo you chateau types of people. This is a hard time of year for me. I don’t have family and it has been a hard year with tons of surgeries and bills piled sky high and no walls in some rooms and pipes that need to be replaced due to recall and no money whatsoever to fix it. I am glad to have Jesus Christ. He never leaves us nor forsakes us, but it is so hard watching everyone else be so prosperous in all areas of life, especially at Christmas. My goal for the new year is just to focus on my ministry and teaching the Word and hopefully, be able to do missions. I wish to have an income so I can be able to adopt. There are so many orphans now who deserve a home and love. I think this life is just not going to be about me, it is going to be about service to the King. And that makes it all ok.

So beautiful and loved every minute! I was wishing you would have bought a gift with your name on it! I saw this one bag in the one store with your name Vivienne on it (and I wonder why? lol) and I felt like finding something you could use that you would even have your first name on! So, tempting that I thought perhaps that would be just what you would have wanted is a gift as such or one for Isabella. She is lovely and yet so smart!! Do not have a daughter, but have two sons, yet if I did have a daughter, I would like one like her as her temperament and just her whole attitude is so great. Much like you with the upbeat type of personality. Stephanie has this as well, and it truly is good with the vlogs to be able to have not just this attitude, but the true mindset and heart showing how you enjoy what you are doing! That is important. Simon is a wonderful gentleman in all ways, and always so willing to do whatever you enjoy and ask, (sort of like my husband) and he finds his own way to have a good time, as well! Nice seeing Philip and Stephanie and Sir Lancelot, as well. The stores all had such unique gifts! Thankyou Vivian and family I absolutely loved this, thankyou again. I loved the church it is sooooo beautiful, and the creche too❤❤❤❤. It was fun watching your daughter znd yourself go through the fun house. I have to say thankyou too for inspiring me to paint on porcelain tiles ( although definitely not to your standard) but I am enjoying it so much. I trace free images from Google onto the tiles and have made them into coasters for family and friends for Christmas gifts.
