Hi: I realized that you were in Seattle when I saw the sign that says "Vancouver B.C".I used to travel through Seattle and up to Vancouver Canada. Going east from Seattle on I-90 there is undulating terrain and a few miles east of Seattle on I-90 there is a mountain called "Snoquamie Pass" to travel over. When there is snow in the winter chains are required on tires. About 250 miles east of Seattle there is Spokane and a few miles further into Idaho there is Post Falls. Coeur d'Alene is a major tourist destination in Idaho, it has lakes and many hotels and hiking trails. Washington, Idaho and Montana has some mountains to traverse.

In the world there is a lot of pressure to spend money that one does not have. As a SDA, brought up in Jamaica, it was claimed that we did not celebrate Christmas, but over the years as a family, there were traditions we developed and at that time of the year, wherever I am, I try to recreate those childhood things we always did for Christmas. These included green gungu rice and peas, sorrel and black rum flavour cake. If there are other SDAs that have traditions for Christmas, please leave a thought..
