We would definitely recommend Santa Clause Village it was everything Christmas all in one place. Lapland Finland is so beautiful you could spend much more time just enjoying the beautiful nature as well. It can be expensive for the trip Finland is a comparable to large city’s in the US in cost.
This year the Christmas market is a bit smaller and simpler because they are renovating the senate square where it would usually be held. But the vibe is sill there!

Dunno if you checked this in advance but at around 1:06 you're flying something like one block (or less) away from one of the Helsinki's no-fly sectors due the Presidential Palace being around there.

We always follow local drone laws when flying our drone. We flew up until the point you mentioned and turned back. We do our research before any flight to make sure we are cleared to fly. Thank you for the information on Helsinki’s drone enhanced warning zones anyone flying in Helsinki should be prepared to avoid those zones and only fly in areas that are legal and open. 🇫🇮👍
@Timo8.2.2 жыл бұрын
Also in EU you need to register your drone and it costs 30 euros/year. I don´ know if it applies to tourists but i would guess it does. Another fine bureaucratic thing to get more money from people. I guess someone almost crashed a plane in Helsinki Vantaa airport and they decided that everyone needs to register their drones if it´s over 250 grams and have a camera

Nicely done! The historical Senate square is so beautiful. Good to know that you checked the limits for flying your drone 😊

Is it ok not to wear any face mask ? I saw some did and some never.
@cadaver66652 жыл бұрын
It's not obligatory but most people wear it to the stores and public transport. The masks get wet really quick when you breathe with them in cold weather.
@Wezqu2 жыл бұрын
Well in short no there is no law that forces their use. They can't force anyone to use them as it would go against finnish laws. They are recommend to be used by the government but in the end its up to each individual to decide where, when or if you use them. Most people do use them but usually you don't see them on when people are outdoors if not in crowded situation. On the market people most likely were not wearing them because they were drinking or eating something and that is little bit hard with a mask on. Usually when you go indoors most people are wearing them like in stores. I usually myself only use them when I go indoors in public places but if i walk outside I take it off as in the end I am not going to go too close to others anyway while walking. You usually can easily keep distance to others so that is not a problem and is quite natural for a finn to do so anyway.

I would say the short-sighted 'modernism' in the 1960's was a much bigger culprit than WW2. They demolished a lot of the older buildings to build all the lovely, 'modern' concrete mold and asbestos boxes. Wartime caused fairly little damage in Helsinki, mainly from some bombing raids.
@markuselias60172 жыл бұрын
@@mrs7195 Truly sad! Helsinki has a lot of unique and beautiful buildings, but also a lot of gray boxes. The combination of it creates nice contrasts. Newly constructed buildings are often also very plain and uninspiring. I hope they will put more emphasis on beautiful architecture in the future!
