In today's video we will cover another very popular moss in the Aquarium hobby - Vesicularia montagnei or Christmas moss that originates from Sunda Island in Indonesia. It is extremely hardy and can survive really wide range of water parameters, yet it is also really attractive looking aquarium plant what makes it great fit for both regular hobbyists but also aquascapers. It also provides great cover for fish or shrimps and therefore it is also ideal plant for breeding tanks.

Liked and Subbed! Christmas Moss is my favorite moss. Everyone says it's a slow grower. I have a couple of TALL tanks. On the sides of my tanks I have tall branches resembling trees. I didn't fiddle around with a small cup of moss. I bought quite a bit off of Ebay, fairly cheap compared to a fish store. I super glued it to the tips of all the branches. Within a few months, the moss spread to the entire branches I placed it on. In six months I was removing huge handfuls of it, to give to my friends. My Moss trees look like something from a Tropical area like Brazil. Shrimp love to hide and feed in it. Baby fish enjoy dashing around in it too. I've had numerous types of mosses. Christmas moss is the best looking I think. And really isn't that slow of a grower. But a newer tank may not have all the nutrients in it like an older tank. Plus I use gravel, organic soil then sand on top of those. The soil obviously releases enough nutrients in the water, to keep my plants thriving. Don't need expensive lighting. But don't allow sunlight to hit the tank. You'll have massive algae problems.

Just got some mini Christmas moss. I have always had trouble with Christmas moss not ever reaching its true potential in a 40 breeder. Any recommendations on a decent CO2 set up. Tried the yeast with a little pump that spewed out tiny bubbles but never seen any changes in any plants?
