I kept waiting for the kitten to jump on top of the sewing machine so it could help you with your project.......then i heard it was a tiny child, not a kitten.....then i was waiting for you to show us who it was joining you in your sewing area to keep you company and was disappointed to not have been introduced. Very nice I have a template and pattern for this quilt but yours is much easier Same way with my pattern and template with the trunk but your make the trees and use a jelly role to sew the trunks to and most are not right even in the middle of the tree but nature is not perfect I get that but you want your quilt that way and the way you used your material is so much much prettier 😊

Directions say to trim to 8 1/2" not 8", so depending on how someone may have stitched their blocks, the 8 1/2" was probably suggested to be sure they could all be the same size. 🙂

Yes, that’s why I said that trim them to the size of your smallest square. But don’t cut them down if you don’t need to. That’s what I was saying. 😁

You can always add sashing if you want to. It's your quilt so it's all about what you think looks great.

There’s no right or wrong way. That’s what I love so much about quilting. It’s your quilt, do it the way you want it. I didn’t do sashing for this quilt because I liked it better without it but I’ve done LOTS of quilts with sashing.
