The holidays without our beloved pets is so hard. Right now I have a foster dog and I'm hoping I get to keep her for at least the holidays. Our family cat would get buried under the wrapping paper and fall asleep every year. It took me years to stop picking, totally understand!

Something I do is make ornaments out of popsicle sticks all you need is to print some small photos before hands. Pinterest has the cutest examples ❤

Oh hunni xmas day is not the easiest day for so many x we started a tradition a few years ago that we open our pressies on christmas eve about 9pm-10pm and it works so well for us as it means we can all do what we enjoy on christmas day, we do spend usually (this year will be slightly different) an hour facetiming family to thank for our gifts and see how they liked theirs x but we are spending xmas day at my parents this year x my sister and niece live at home still but with our parents needing more help getting older the bulk of that falls to my sister and niece so they are going to blackpool for a few days and i will help more x but rather than facetime to my parents and brother it will be my sister and brother 🤔 or he might pop up for an hour so not sure need to check on that lol x dinner is always 3/4pm but dads appetite is poor now so need to spread the meal out a bit so soup will be lunch time i think and then dinner at the usual time and dessert at 7pm ish so he has space to enjoy it x my kids are older 26 & 18 so my eldest will be with us all day and evening and the youngest is going to his friends at night for a few hours x we bought the board game tapple (will not be using the timer) but hopefully that will be a good laugh x we do have a good blether and a laugh xx we are a pretty close bunch x so dont bother spending time together x last year it was all of us and my brother visited for an hour to exchange gifts and see dad as his healths declining im making them aware they might not get many more to spend with him x 😢 so making each one count x Evening will just be the three of us and likely just a movie or blethering x my oh and our eldest will likely have some alcohol, i dont bother too much really x its nice to unwind x but with all my medication alcohol isnt a good idea lol x I used to enjoy going out a walk in the afternoon before dinner, kids on bikes or scooters or whatever and us with the dog, it was nice to just get outside and it was quiet x perhaps see if anywhere local is doing a christmas event we have a few pubs and cafes in my home town open for people who are alone or dont have anyone around maybe volunteer for an hour or so to break the day up a bit x
