"Hazel's Christmas Shopping" is the first Christmas episode of the NBC sitcom Hazel, aired as the twelfth episode of the show's first season. Hazel has one gift to buy before Christmas and it's for Dorothy. However, when she discovers she doesn't have money for it, she gets a job at a department store and encounters a shoplifter.

“Just 86 Shopping Minutes Till Christmas" is the second Christmas episode of the NBC sitcom Hazel, based on The Saturday Evening Post comic strip of the same name, aired as the fifteenth episode of its fourth season. Unlike the series' previous Christmas episode, it was broadcast in color. Dorothy discovers a mink coat in the house and jumps to the conclusion that it's a Christmas gift for her from George. She is unaware that Harry had bought it for Rita and asked George to hide it for him.
•Hazel is an American sitcom about a spunky live-in maid named Hazel Burke (played by Shirley Booth) and her employers, the Baxters. The five-season, 154-episode series aired in prime time from September 28, 1961, to April 11, 1966, and was produced by Screen Gems. The first four seasons of Hazel aired on NBC, and the fifth and final season aired on CBS. Season 1 was broadcast in black-and-white except for one episode which was in color, and seasons 2-5 were all broadcast in color.

1.) During the first four seasons, series sponsor, the Ford Motor Company, put their cars on the show. The Baxters' family cars were always Fords. In 1964, the show became one of the first to show its characters riding in a Mustang, which had just been introduced.
2.)The exterior of the Baxter's home was also used as the Murtaughs of Lethal Weapon (1987), and its follow-up films.
3.) Bobby Buntrock (Harold Baxter) was the lone child on the series. After Hazel (1961), he appeared in two episodes of The Virginian (1962). Seven years later, he died in an auto accident in South Dakota, age 21.
4.) “The Hazel Show” was based on the cartoons of Ted Key, which appeared in the Saturday Evening Post magazine.
5.) The family name is Baxter, which was the name of Whitney Blake's first husband (and father of her daughter, Meredith Baxter).
6.) Hazel was the president of a local-area group, (the Sunshine girls); a group of women, who worked as maids.
7.) Shirley Booth later provided the voice of Mrs Claus in The Year Without a Santa Claus (1974).
8.) Whitney Blake left acting after the series, and became a well-known network executive.
9.) The opening credits changed several times over the series' run, Each year, showcasing one of Ford's (the show's sponsor) new cars.
10.) During opening credits, where Hazel's passing groceries to the family, and the camera's on 'Missy’ there's a church beyond the trees. The church sits a cross walk from the Stephen's house (Bewitched (1964). The ranch burned in 1973.

And I noticed the flub of the cookies in the living room scene in the second Hazel show: In the kitchen, Hazel is taking cookies shaped like stars off the cookie sheet, but when Missy brings the plate of cookies into the living room, the cookies are shaped like Russian tea cookies, that is, drop cookies. In any case, although admittedly often Hazel could be "annoying," and I honestly tend to doubt any family would. have continued to employ such a meddlesome housekeeper, she did have a heart of gold and taught Mr. B a valuable lesson in the 1964 Christmas show.

George Baxter was right! But resistance to commercialism would never fly on a medium supported by advertising. It’s amazing how mid-century postwar consumerism brainwashed people into thinking that wanting a genuine Christmas, free of commercialism, made one a “Scrooge”. The power of Capitalism in a country that worships money. And we wonder how we got to where we are today.

Who wrote this? No one gets excited about a dumb Santa lawn decoration. And plastic Santa's and reindeer don't have personalities. George did not get 'so upset'. Who keeps fabric toys in the kitchen near food while baking. And they get so excited about getting a fur coat that was taken from a poor animal that was killed and skinned so some woman can wear its fur. Dumb show. Also, no one would let the maid take over and be nosy and but in all the time.
