Right, that really threw me off. FIrst when the one guy said about the other host "you love to hate him" when it seemed to be about django... then later at about 2:30 when he described the character as mean and nasty, and it was the black dude of all people saying it lol.

I love how Waltz knows exactly who he is which is humbling in and of itself. "I'm an actor". He doesn't try to pretend (no pun intented) to be anything greater than what he is like some other actors in Hollywood. He gives credit to the writers and says "I do what they tell me" which is insanely humble. So many actors think that they're these amazing and wonderful almost God like entities when all they do is what the writers tell them to do. It's refreshing to hear a celebrity know what they are and accept it.

@@Signal_in_the_noise You must not be around many people over the age of 40. There’s a ton of romance movies and romcoms that focus on older characters. Look at Love Actually, Something’s Gotta Give, Love Actually, etc.
@Signal_in_the_noise
@Signal_in_the_noise Жыл бұрын
@@Sharpe1502 adult rom coms are far less prevalent….regardless, his talents would be wasted on a cheap forgettable movie like that. Do you see legendary actors like Leo or Daniel Day Lewis do movies like that? No because I’m sure that sort of script doesn’t challenge or interest them. They are formulaic and forgettable and offer nothing new or unique. Im sure an actor of his caliber dream to work with the best of the best when it comes to directors, producers, and cinematographers and those people are not working on cheesy rom coms. They are busy trying to push the boundaries and offer something insightful. Rom coms are for actors who want a paycheck, not a fulfilling project. His project selection has been fantastic so far id hate to see him stray.

playing in sinister intellectual films like the Consultant is a very difficult and complex thing as it require a certain type of charisma and emotional intelligence. Christoph is one of the most underrated actors. Another one that delivers every time is Christian Bale. Very hard thing to do, I feel that Cristoph deserves more respect from people.

@@claudiuflorea2090 Are the people disrespecting him? Or is that you think he should be in more films and being overlooked? I think he's brilliant in everything he's in. Django Unchained was such an amazing character for him and he played it perfectly. As he was in Inglourious Basterds also. Two master pieces!
@claudiuflorea2090
@claudiuflorea2090 10 ай бұрын
@@jvac1129 I feel that people consider him as only being capable of playing ''nasty'' bizarre roles, as the person from this interview stated. The Consultant, for example has a low general review score because people complained they didn't understood the plot. We grew up accustomed for movies to spoon feed us the story, leaving most unable to think for themselves. I for one love that show and Christoph plays a very difficult role that not a lot of actors would be able to. Not enough recognizion for him into a world that has left with very few truly intelligent actors that offer a unique flavour to their craft by being an interesting person and having a complex real life personality. That is why we don't have huge movies, no more. The quality of actors has been greatly reduced because of the way society shapes nowadays actors personalities.
