This man is incredibly passionate about the craft of acting, it's a shame that the people who have passion like this for an artform are the ones who get shunned, rejected and marginalized, because a lot of people think that this level of passion is corny.

I really think it’s more intentional marginalization, because they see tall, strong, intelligent brothers as threats. They did him an injustice on the Jamie Foxx Show casting him as a corny uptight nerd. I was looking forward to the TV series where he played POTUS being a long-lived series but nope…….pulled. Him, Blair Underwood, Boris Kodjoe and a host of other brothers (who should have been perennial top-leading men) have been intentionally marginalized by Hollywood; replaced by shuck-n-jive clowns or relegated to one of Tyler Perry’s ‘Chitlins, Cheetos and Kool-Aid’ shows.

Garrett did come back for an episode, when Martin and Gina opened "Rent Em Spoons" restaurant. He was wearing an african dashiki and was Tommy's African connection. They explained that he hitched a ride with "some brothas (aka OJ Simpson)" driving a white ford bronco... then realized the police were chasing them... and Stan said he just remembers waking up in a hospital... So, although it was not cool to cancel his role, he was on good enough terms to make a cameo appearance... later on

Christopher Duncan was talking about how a lot of actors(not just him) aren't taken serious for other roles, in movies/TV shows after playing a specific niche character (such as only casts in a comedic role or only the villain, or only the auntie/uncle/grandparent role. Some producers only see you in just one vein of acting, which we all know isn't right nor fair to these actors. I'm glad he is working, and we want to see him and other actors(that have been typecasted in the past) in a lot more roles and even bigger budget productions. These actors deserve a lot more recognition 💯
@SLa-pb1gg

Clifton Powell talked about how he auditioned for MANY roles, yet they kept casting him as the villain because he was dark skin and played the villain so well. He says he was even beat out for a role and it went to a light skin actor. I swear I think he’s talking about Dead Presidents and Terrance Howard’s role as Cowboy.

Christopher B Duncan is a great actor. In Original Gangsters, he embodied that role. He has the range to stretch outside of character and return. Extremities is an extreme closeup of a predator and his intended victims who eventually confesses. Only a skillful actor could portray a character that is manipulative and sadistic,yet return to themselves.

STAN FAME WAS GROWING RAPIDLY FROM MARTIN SHOW AND AT THE TIME MARTIN WAS SO BIG HEADED HE DIDNT WANT NO SHINE TAKEN FROM HIM! EVERY TIME THERE WAS A STAN SCENE IT WAS BELOVED!! LITERALLY. LIT UP THE SCREEN LIKE NO OTHER EVERY SINGLE TIME!! MARTIN WAS A COLD BLOODED DUDE BACK THEN AND HE KNOW IT

Might be a bit of a controversial opinion, but Christopher B. Duncan CARRIED the Jamie Foxx Show.

I couldn’t agree more, I didn’t find Jamie Foxx funny. I didn’t appreciate Foxx until Ray then I realized he’s a better actor than comedian compared to Martin who’s have me rolling

@@1stwonder788 Yeah. NGL. I think he's better at impressions and physical humor than stand-up. Also, alot of the most iconic lines on the show came from Braxton.

I'm used to hearing about Black people fighting against negative stereotypical roles (pimp, drug dealer, gangster, h*e, idiot). But to hear Duncan say that he didn't want to be pigeonholed into the role of the upstanding, articulate Black guy is interesting! I applaud him for wanting to show his range. It's crazy how we know a person from one role when in reality they had a whole 3-paged resume prior to what we know them as.
