This man is incredibly passionate about the craft of acting, it's a shame that the people who have passion like this for an artform are the ones who get shunned, rejected and marginalized, because a lot of people think that this level of passion is corny.

I really think it’s more intentional marginalization, because they see tall, strong, intelligent brothers as threats. They did him an injustice on the Jamie Foxx Show casting him as a corny uptight nerd. I was looking forward to the TV series where he played POTUS being a long-lived series but nope…….pulled. Him, Blair Underwood, Boris Kodjoe and a host of other brothers (who should have been perennial top-leading men) have been intentionally marginalized by Hollywood; replaced by shuck-n-jive clowns or relegated to one of Tyler Perry’s ‘Chitlins, Cheetos and Kool-Aid’ shows.

Garrett did come back for an episode, when Martin and Gina opened "Rent Em Spoons" restaurant. He was wearing an african dashiki and was Tommy's African connection. They explained that he hitched a ride with "some brothas (aka OJ Simpson)" driving a white ford bronco... then realized the police were chasing them... and Stan said he just remembers waking up in a hospital... So, although it was not cool to cancel his role, he was on good enough terms to make a cameo appearance... later on

Christopher Duncan was talking about how a lot of actors(not just him) aren't taken serious for other roles, in movies/TV shows after playing a specific niche character (such as only casts in a comedic role or only the villain, or only the auntie/uncle/grandparent role. Some producers only see you in just one vein of acting, which we all know isn't right nor fair to these actors. I'm glad he is working, and we want to see him and other actors(that have been typecasted in the past) in a lot more roles and even bigger budget productions. These actors deserve a lot more recognition 💯

@SLa-pb1gg 10 ай бұрын
Clifton Powell talked about how he auditioned for MANY roles, yet they kept casting him as the villain because he was dark skin and played the villain so well. He says he was even beat out for a role and it went to a light skin actor. I swear I think he’s talking about Dead Presidents and Terrance Howard’s role as Cowboy.

LOVE GARRET MORRIS! Met him at his little comedy club he was throwing downtown n LA circa 2012 and he could not have been any sweeter and kind salt of the earth human being! I mildly threw "snl not ready for prime time players" friendly comment "Baseball been very good to me!" while he mc'd and heckled back saying "Nice to see that we have some old folks here tonight! -HaHaHa! And, after the show he shook my hand and we took a photo with me! ma'an oh ma'an truly a legend! LOVE him! "; )"

Martin’s production behind the scenes was a hot mess for a long time. It’s so upsetting now knowing he was a casualty of a bad work environment

The build up in his story telling had far better more suspense than most movies I've seen in 2023

I met this dude a long time ago at a park. He was with his kid and I was with my kid. He was telling me how he went out for all of the Will Smith stuff. And yes, he has the same presence. He’s a big guy, probably about 6-2 or 6-3.

After hearing this interview, now it all makes sense. Original Gangstas was the first film I saw him in and he was the leader of this gang. Prior to that, I never saw him play the bad guy in anything. And the first time I saw him was on Martin when Pam set him up on a date with Gina. And that’s messed up what they did to Garrett Morris. He was one of my favorite characters on the show, but I do remember the show bringing him back for some later episodes. Like, guest appearances.

Dude plays a mean bad guy character. I was surprised when the Braxton character came. And he played it perfect. Good dude.

Braxton P. Hartnebrig 🥰✨ This is so sad, I never knew Martin had done Garrett Morris so cold. He’s a legend. Crazy…💔

Man imagine being robbed and then shot and now you in the hospital fighting for your life and recovery, only to find out that your main gig and source of income, just let you go. Hollywood is a cold business smh
