Saw a old comment where the person wanted Christopher to read this speech. I sure hope they saw this.

Unfortunately they were involved in a double murder/suicide a few years back, so no I'm afraid they won't be seeing this.

0:33 I love that he says it in the way that means he’s calling her stupid😂 “Then you will die, stupid.”

While fun to hear, he has no context, he's never seen it, read it before, rehearsed it. It's like when you're asked to come up in front of the class and told "Read page 394 to the class." Fun, but if he had proper preparation and context, it wouldn't sound anything like how he did it here.

Yeah I know what you’re saying but there are parts when he definitely does get it. For an actor is cold cold reading when you going to audition and sometimes you’re just given a script to read and you’ve got to try and sort of do your best with it. I definitely think there are moments in here went yeah it’s as you said but I think there are moments when he just hits every now and then

The only moment that really felt off to me was when he said "Look at me! I'm unforgivable!" He didn't realize The Doctor was actually mocking Bonnie. I don't blame him, he had no way of knowing, but I really do wish these script reads had some direction and he had 10 minutes to learn about the scene.

I really don't understand the necessity of asking past Doctors to do this. I get it they are actors but usually speeches are wrote with specific Doctors in mind. Fans can be weird. I know it's fun and all but it's also reminds me of people insisting past Who actors can always do Big Finish, yeah... I'm sure actors who want to be on screen want to read off scripts a few dedicated fans will hear, about how everyone meets River Song and Nicholas Briggs for the 200th time.

Yeah I agree, also in instances like this - the actor has no time to prep the material and deliver a performance that they have thought about and applied meticulous choices to. So it is absolutely incomparable to the performance Peter gave in the actual televised story.

@@TheThundernerds Agreed, plus they only get the chance of one take under these circumstances, which isn't what happens in the studio. There, multiple takes give the actor/director the opportunity to try different approaches to the same lines.

_"scripts a few dedicated fans will hear"_ ... Exactly, and some Big Finish fans don't seem to realise how few they are. From what I've read, even the most successful Big Finish releases only sell a few thousands, and BF makes their money by recording so many of them. Which is great, and long may it continue, but the spinoff media needs to be kept in perspective.

It just seems like a bit of fun, man. "Hey I like this speech, hey I like this actor, I wonder what it'd sound like if this actor made this speech" is really all the thought that goes into this stuff, it's not that deep.

It's a fun little exercise in how no matter the face, the Doctor is still the Doctor. Blame whoever it was that had Sylvester McCoy read the Pandorica Stonehenge speech.
