There is more than one point of view. We must study the sum total of religious activity before rendering a decision.

I look forward to the day religion declines as an anti theist, but I think those who believe it will lead a sane world are misleading themselves. There are probably a great number people who are only restrained to behave half way ethically because they have been brought to believe there will be great suffering as a punishment.I agree it is not the best way to be ethical, but if that's the only way for some , I say beware the day that restraint is gone.

Jesse Ventura is a self proclaimed atheist who became the governor of Minnesota. He seemed to be toying with the idea of running for president as an independent.

Ron Corlies Jesse Ventura seems like a good enough person (Which was item number 1 on Hitch's list of qualification for office), but just like Ron Paul, there's an incurable vein of craziness running right through the middle of him.

I think it's disturbing for people to teach their kids from a young age there is no life after death/ atheism HOWEVER I think it's horrible also for parents to teach their kids fundamentalist beliefs of any kind...! just saying...

I wonder if atheism is really a minority currently? I'm not saying it could be the opposite but being an atheist is probably easier now that it was 50 60 years ago or more.
