Made a GIANT collection when I was younger and part of a science / entomological society. That was a part of the natural history museum . They taught us how to kill. And preserve. These days with modern cameras even cell phone cams. You can take breathtaking photos of your catch. And these photos will last a lifetime. The insects get to go home ! Freedom ! And no death. Now that's ! Fun !

The moths are fun to play with . Some others too. Giant silk moths will walk around and be happy when you let them into the hotel room. They will stay warm by the light and slowly move their wings or cover themselves and sit in a corner. Photograph time ! Then the next day , they are let go into the nature near by.

But in the exhibit it was sad animals and insects were collected post-mortem! :(
