@@lexofpower2822 he wrote superman lost, but i remember the fan backlash to that book. the "fans" hated that superman was time displaced. the basic criticisms were "you just "aged" up clark kent like what happened to jon kent", or "writing clark out of character because he's "sad" now."

Wow, I don’t know a lot of black comic book writers nor seen a lot of interviews with them specially from comicbook tubers. This was really nice, he definitely has an interesting take on things, thanks Sal 🙂

Man I love that we’re getting so many creator interviews with Sal lately

Sal's so goddamn easy to talk to. You can kind of see it the first time any of the repeat guests are on, the moment they realize how much they're enjoying the conversation. Sal's interviews are great because he can get the subject to relax and enjoy themselves. Turns out when you're smart, articulate, and respectful of your guest, it goes a long way in a universe where most interviews are superficial, vacuous, and repetitive.

Chirstopher Priest is a really fun person. This interaction here has me bought in. I will try Vampirella #666 for sure. Speaking of covers, back in 2019 Dynamite had a vampirella cover contest. I made a cover art for Vampirella. While I didnt win, Dynamite asked me to email it to them and that they'd put my art in one of the issues as a fan art spotlight. I sent it in, but never heard back if it ever got printed. Completely ghosted when I asked if it made it in.

A lot of interior artists turned cover artists cite a lack of creative control and credit for why they moved to covers. There are other reasons, of course, but those are big ones. A lot of readers give the credit for storytelling, design, flow, etc. to the writers and it's more often the artists who do a lot of the hard work.
