The thing that makes me laugh about Artie is he actually had a decent life and didn't even seem to realise it. A talented chef, his own restaurant, a hot wife. If he'd have acted his age a bit more he would have been very respectable.
@jorgeguerrero34553 жыл бұрын
Well, that's debatable; wife was hot but usually didn't dress up for him, she hardly repsected him and would bust his balls more often than not, she was bitchy especially with him. She was no model wife either, Tony had had her too. The restaurant? Paid the bills, didn't make him rich and HE was the business; without him there was no restaurant. Hot hostesses would only take advantage of his weakness for his desire for young hotties to exploit the hell out of him, rob him then spit on his face by dating young hoodlooms who would come into the restaurant like the hostess was on her lunch break when she was supposed to be working.

@@JoeSmith-dl9ok That's true... and yes she was hot, very hot, but she treated him like shit most of the time and didn't really dress hot for HIM, maybe for the business but that's very different. @andraspongracz59964 жыл бұрын
I don't understand the 214 likes. In my opinion, this comment is absurd. Tony didn't castrate Chris, he saved Artie's life by putting an end to the fight. "Go wait outside" meant "I will handle this, don't kill this clueless prick." He made it clear all the way through Artie's provocation that he doesn't approve of Artie's behavior. No way Chris interpreted the "Go wait outside" command as Tony siding with Artie.
@Madigan101st4 жыл бұрын
@@andraspongracz5996 agreed. Just like when Ritchie said "ah hes a good kid" about Chris... Tony just stared at him quietly and said "Capable". meaning he'll' fucking kill you. same impression here. He's pandering to these old guys trying to step on Chris but he knows and Chris knows.

The only reason Artie got away with that shit is because Tony actually cared about him. But for that, Artie woulda been a sandwich at Holstens.
@bearcat6485 жыл бұрын
Artie was Tony's only 100% genuine friend. He didn't want anything from Tony. He knew him for decades, but hardly ever made use of his position. The only thing he seemed to get out of it was a certain thrill from hanging with mobsters, but even that didn't really impress him. He was throwing cold cuts at Tony like they were kids. I think for Tony, his friendship with Artie could allow him to feel more normal, like just a regular businessman. Similarly, Tony never treated anything Artie did as having an ulterior motive. He didn't point the gun at him to play some power game, he did it because he was so angry and understandably felt a little powerless against a mob boss. Richie Aprile could make a passive aggressive joke and it would infuriate Tony, whereas Artie could do some really stupid stuff, and it might piss Tony off, but it was the problems that you have with a close friend who is sometimes a little crazy, and nothing more.

minute 1:43 Holy crap Gandolfini was an amazing actor. Check out the intensity when he slaps and grabs Artie and asks what is wrong with him. He really carried the show and set the tone for everyone to step it up

@EnriqueDeloSantos6036 жыл бұрын
I'm referring to his acting chops. He was fantastic in this role...whatever personal issues he had didn't necessarily impact what his final performance ended up being on screen. By "setting the tone" I am stating that he placed a great deal of attention to his craft and we saw it play out on the other actors on the show. Regarding his personal issues: A lot of actors have issues on and off the set - those issues don't do a thing in changing the perspective of a GOOD performance when it is GOOD. Do you disagree? And whether he got "paid nicely" or not is irrelevant...... Do you have a personal beef with the man? Because it sounds like you do. Diminishing his accomplishments on the show by stating that "lots of guys could have played that part" is you removing what was special about how he acted IN THE PART (which was the sole reason for my post). It's fine if you disagree on how great his acting was - you have every right to disagree....but what do the things you bring up have to do with the way his performance ended up being? Paid nicely - ya ok....that's great for him - but what does $ have to do with anything? lots of guys could have played that part - "coulda, shoulda, woulda" - this a hypothetical and holds no bearing here because we will never know how. Drug benders leaving the crew waiting for a week - so he was unprofessional, he's not the first and won't be the last...are you free of any issues? Again - what do any of the three points you mentioned have to do with Gandolfini's great acting?????
@ssj4goku18825theepic5 жыл бұрын
Rosy Palma Jimmy was a humble man and he showed respect to every crew member and actor in the set and even asked for his payment to paid to half the crew. Yes he had his bad demons too with a bad coke habit and obesity which he is to blame for it but it doesn’t mean shit to his great acting and personality l
