That is an intriguing lens. This is actually a focal range that is missing from my prime lenses for the a6400. And that crazy fast aperture adds a lot of value. At the time of you posting this video, it is currently on sale in all colors for $319 in the US. I may have to grab one of these and try it out. Thank you for the outstanding review.

I would go for the 75mm Samyang, I bought it before I went full frame but it remains my favourite street photography lens combo with my a6400… It’s tiny and amazing on focal length…

Interesting that you have it on the A5100 as I had it on that for a while too to make a super light combo. Interestingly that combo weight works out as one of the highest scoring entrance pupil per kilogram I have ever seen (88:1), beating the Samyang 75/1.8 by a bit. For bokeh panos this lens is one of my favourites now and I have always advocated for full frame until now. I cannot believe the price of this thing!

Hello Christopher. This question is to get your opinion on an older Nikkor lens that is on my list for purchase. It is the Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G ED-IF. Just wanted to see if you have had a chance to review this lens in the past and would like to know your opinion. Thank you in advance.

@@mannybalingit9767 I owned the lens more than 10 years ago. It was an excellent lens back then, but If I remember correctly the wide open long end was a little bit on the soft side. The lens was built like a tank hence very heavy therefore not sure this lens makes senses any more these days as the like of sigma constant 2.8 or tamron on dx format are lighter, smaller & sharper.

A comparison of Sirui 75 1.2 with Viltrox 75 1.2 would be helpful. The AF on the Viltrox isn't supposed to be that good for moving subjects. How does AF compare between Sirui / Viltrox. Especially when people/animals move towards the camera. A sharpness comparison at 1.8 or 2.0 would be enough for me
@mongini13 ай бұрын
if you want sharpness at 1.8, just get the Yongnuo 85mm F1.8S - it ranks #2 for sharpness at DXO - and these guys are picky as f*ck... if you still want my oponion on these two (i own the Viltrox and tested the MF version of the Sirui and sent it back immediately) The Viltrox is sharper at 1.2 than the Sirui at f2 - at f2 the Viltrox is as sharp as your sensor can resolve - even the demanding X-H2 which i shoot on.
