Hey Christopher, You can link a note to a reminders have been able to for quite a few years. It’s kind of a hidden feature but it is doable. Just highlight a portion of your note and the a bar of options pops up. Share is one of those options, then select reminders. You can change the title of the reminder and the folder you want to save it to. Hope that helps. Thanks for all the content you put out. I learn so much from you.

14:19 I may have a work around for adding documents - although it is a little cumbersome. If you have iCloud, you can share a document/file. That link can be pasted in to the Links field and it will attach to the reminder and link back to the file. I hope this helps!

17:54 the two things I really are Reminders need a option in the inspector panel to show selected reminder or Today’s reminders in calendar app. And definitely link /auto fill notes from Notes apps to the notes section of Reminders, Calendar and Contacts and have the Notes apps be the reservoir for notes fields of the varying apps. I still find Reminders is a little bit clunky and cumbersome to use. I add Reminders to it, but then I never go back into it since I mainly live in my calendar app but I love the powerfulness of Reminders and the Notes app. I’ll try to incorporate some of your techniques you just showed here, but Apple definitely needs to take a lot of your suggestions and add them to Reminders app. 👍🏾

Wanted to point out one thing though, the shortcut you shared works well except for this one small bug. When running the shortcut over a Safari page and using an external keyboard, the shortcut is unable to take in any input from the keyboard. You have to get to on-screen keyboard to show up. HI Chris, great video as always. I’m going a little nuts trying to decide between this app and Things 3 (which I already own). Currently Apple Reminders has a bit of an edge because I can at least access it on a browser in Windows, something I occasionally have to use. Also, Things doesn’t give you a unified week view of your tasks, something I find very useful. My question to you is - of the two apps, which is the more stable, which is better for not losing data and those kind of things. I figure that is critical. Thanks!

I also switched back to Calendar. I have Calender 366 as a backup for a quick add, but in large part, I use Apple’s app and Google Calendar for work. The sub price for Fantastical was not worth the features, most of which I don’t use. I also found that as Google and Apple integrate features, it becomes hard to pay for them. For example, I tried Fantasical’s scheduling tool, but I already paid for Calendly. Not I cancelled that one because google’s built in works the same way andI already pay for Gsuite.

@@ChrisLawley With Todoist getting the calendar it is becoming the most useful over Things 3 and Apple Reminders (the only other 2 I consider). I just wish it had the background syncing. I get so many notifications on my phone of tasks that I dismissed on my iPad or Computer. I can't use it cause its widgets are lackluster (even the iOS17 ones, they are super slow). so I'm trying to decide between Things 3 and Reminders and it is hard. They are both so good.

I have a question that I don't see anyone talking about, unless I'm mistaken. One of the main advantages and reasons why I keep on coming back to Apple Reminders, as opposed to a third party app, is because Apple Reminders are the only reminders that can stay on your lock screen indefinitely, as opposed to moving to the notifications center after an hour. I would love to be told that I'm wrong and shown how!
