I struggle with my sexuality and this gives me hope!!!

I don't struggle with my sexuality. I am a happily gay, happily married (to a man) Christian. As I understand the gospel of Jesus Christ, especially what is taught in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, Christ has set us free to love as Christ loves, with our whole beings. This is my testimony.

Sexuality is not a choice. It is no more a sin than race or gender. The bible was written twenty centuries ago, and is outdated socially and scientifically.

@@myjoncarllewis I’m sorry but to be a Christian one must follow Christ, and to follow Christ one must follow his teachings. God makes it very clear that liars, drunkards, thieves, adulterers, homosexuals etc will not inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9. I tell you this because I care about you and your soul, repent of your sins and humble yourself before God. He is a loving And merciful God ready to forgive, but he is also a just God.

Thank you for sharing your testimony and insights. I lived 20 years as a gay man and found Jesus and the Father one night in the solitude of my bedroom while I was thinking about my spiritual and moral bankruptcy for the decisions of life I made these 20 years and the consequences they brought into my life. I'm 40 and I also have been thinking about how to deal with singleness and how to pursue holiness and what to expect. In many ways I've felt like Abraham, walking by faith knowing the Father is with me. My promise land is not to become heterosexual but be transformed into a man after God's own heart and imitate the holiness of my Father and develop the character of Jesus my Lord and Savior. Thank you for your insights, they have been uplifting and encouraging. Greetings from Argentina.

I am in a homosexual relationship, something I’ve longed for for a long time. But I am spiritually unsatisfied and I know I am lost. I know the gospel and believe it but I can’t seem to break from my desires. I am not disciplined. I also don’t want to break my partners heart. I do love him and care for him. We are always together. I can’t imagine parting. It aches my heart and I feel torn between my heart and love for him, and my desire to pursue Jesus. I don’t have anyone in my life to guide me. I feel trapped and lost.

It does not matter what the sin is, we have God's forgiveness. And He does not want spoiled children. Thankfully He does not leave us to die.... His Holy Spirit & His Word change us. Whatever earthly identities we have pale in comparison to His holiness. Jesus Christ saves us to heal us. Thank you for this testimony, brother. Christ-followers need guidance. What if the Christian doesn't believe it's a sin? And they have been able to refute every scripture that mentions it (Rom 1, 1 Cor 6, Leviticus, etc)

I'm sorry that Christopher's gay life was empty and tumultuous. I am happy for his current happiness. However, there are hundreds of thousands of faithfully LGBTQ+ persons living full, flourishing lives as Christian and gay both celibate and noncelibate. My husband and I have loved each other for twenty five years. I find my relationship with Christ deepens every day. I stand to give testimony that there is a great cloud of openly-gay, Christ-loving witnesses to the goodness of God's creation. I'm sorry my life has not been as dramatic as Christopher's but it has been filled with the love of my family, my church, my husband, and my God.

Hello, I don’t want to offend you or harm you in any was but I have a question : If God really changed you shouldnt you have physical attraction for other women?
@christopheryuan5 жыл бұрын
No offense or harm taken! That's a great question. Often Christians have misunderstood that change for the person who experiences attractions toward the same-sex means to have attractions toward the opposite sex...in other words "orientation change." But this ended up sometimes encouraging sin. In other words, I know of counselors who would use pornography of the opposite sex as "therapy" and when one begins lusting after the same sex, this was viewed by some as "success." Thus, in my new book, I articulate that the goal is not heterosexuality, but holy sexuality which is chastity in singleness and faithfulness in marriage. Biblical change does not mean that we will not be tempted by sin (Jesus was tempted by sin). But change is the spirit-wrought ability to be holy even in the midst of temptations. Hope this helps! You should read my new book, "Holy Sexuality and the Gospel"!
@platzfuerwitze5 жыл бұрын
Christopher Yuan Thank you. I watched your video and did understand what you said. But in my opinion God should be able to transform these desires in something that ist beneficial for the person. There can still be temptation Even though a person is attracted to the opposite sex . So thats why I don’t understand. Does this mean that a person can‘t change his sexual desires and Never ever feel attracted to one woman . Because in my opinion somebody would lie to her partner of the person still Gas temptation of the Same sex. Plus there are a lot of testimonies in which people say that they Likes women After they have met God. So I am confused what does this bring me if my desires cannot change.
@christopheryuan4 жыл бұрын
Great question and you've got it right by saying "feel attracted to one woman"-and I would add, that one woman who is your spouse. If that is what you mean by developing opposite sex attractions toward your spouse (or near future spouse, that is, fiance), then YES! I totally believe that. I am just careful not to espouse the Freudian and secular category of "heterosexuality." What you are asking is included in the phrase "holy sexuality" which is chastity in singleness and faithfulness in marriage. In marriage, each spouse should desire each other physically, emotionally, spiritually, etc. I don't think two people should marry if they don't desire each other. Hope this helps!

The description of homosexuality as a lifestyle is a blatent oversimplification of human sexuality in general and homosexuality in particular. Such indoctrination of the collective societal psyche is paramount to the self validating delusion of heterosexuality possessing moral validity. The reason that we never hear the term " heterosexual lifestyle" is because there is no need to catogorize heterosexuality with such descriptively inherent connotative oversimplification in order to subconciously justify contempt and hatred through the stone of subjective comparison.
