"Conscious Eating" by Gabriel Cousens, M.D. Jesus and Animal Sacrifice Epiphanius quotes Jesus, in His confrontation with the high priest in the Temple after He has chased out the money lenders, “I come to abolish sacrifices, and unless you cease sacrifices my anger will not cease from you.” Epiphanius also points out that the Essenes were not only vegetarians, but also opposed animal sacrifice. It is in this context that one gets a further understanding of why Jesus chased out the money lenders from the Temple and freed the animals who were going to be sacrificed. It was the money lenders who exchanged money so that Jews coming from foreign lands could purchase animals for sacrifice. The teachings of Jesus and the Essenes stood directly against the practice of the other Jewish sects and that of Romans, who also practiced animal sacrifice. Titus Flavius Clemens, one of the most respected of the early Christian fathers, is quoted in “Ethics of Diet” by Howard Williams as saying, “Sacrifices were invented by men as a pretext for eating flesh.” The Gospel of the Hebrews also clarifies that Jesus not only taught not to eat our animal friends, but had come to end blood sacrifices. In Lection XXI, verse 8, teaching to His disciples He says, “I have come to end the sacrifices and feasts of blood, the wrath of God shall not cease from you; even as it came to your fathers in the wilderness, who lusted for flesh, and they ate to their content, and were filled with rottenness, and the plague consumed them.” This seems to be essentially the Essene understanding of the motivation behind sacrifices. According to Ewing, the Essene understanding of diet was based on commandment, “Thou Shalt Not Kill” and the first dietary commandment of Genesis 1:29, which gave humanity fruits, nuts, seeds, vegetables, grains, and grasses to eat, but specifically NOT flesh food. The position of Jesus against animal sacrifices is, of course, consistent with His humaneness, His love for all of God’s creatures, and His vegetarianism. According to the Hastings Encyclopedia on Religion and Ethics, “The Gospel according to the Apostles was used by the Ebionite (viz Nazarenes). Herein is found the “Essene Christ.” He denounces sacrifice and the eating of flesh.”

“Paul was the first corrupter of the doctrines of Jesus.” -Thomas Jefferson The schism led by Paul -- a meat-eating version of Christianity -- replaced the teachings of Jesus with the teachings of Paul. Here are six important assertions made in regard to Paul: 1) Paul said that it’s OK to eat meat sacrificed to idols; 2) Paul said that it’s OK to have slaves; 3) Paul said that women were inferior; 4) Paul replaced Jesus' doctrine of salvation by drawing attention away from imitating Christ and fixes attention on his sacrificial death; 5) Paul was the “demon-driven enemy of the Messiah”; and 6) Paul had been the enemy of Essene Christianity from the beginning by infiltrating the movement to destroy it from within.

As a raised catholic I abandoned the dogma because of the many controversies I found while reading the bible. There was a direct opposition between the old and the new testament that made it for a painful reading, so I only took jesus words as the message and tried to keep the rest out. And my understanding was the same. Jesus is never mentioned to eat animal, the only reference is the multiplication of fish and bread but always felt that was an ackward thing to do and somehow it felt shoehorned into the narration just to avoid clashing with the predominant culture of murder at the time of the spreading of the dogma. In fact the apostoles mention 5 loaves for 5 thousand, fish is not mentioned at all. The crazy thing is the word in the old testament says something like you shall not murder which does not imply killing but killing without necesity. And we live today in a world where killing animals does not come for necesity so it becomes that which is forbidden in the 10 commandments: you shall not murder. Which goes fully against the old god. Also to me the sacrifice of the christ hid something extra. What sins did he die for ? What sins was he trying to clear us up ? Maybe the sins of sacrificing animals is included in all the sins he was trying to reset. Did we, as a human culture learn the lesson ? The Christ said that the generation he was from would not pass... maybe to understand his lessons and that it would take future generations to learn the meaning. Maybe we are the generation to learn. As a vegan for 30 years I can without a doubt say you don t need to kill animals to live a good life and I am not a skinny hippie at all. I weight 100 kgs with a high muscle mass that comes from practicing taichi for 20 years. I am 50 right now. Anyway, just wanted to leave a message of understanding that maybe helps others as well to reach the same conclusion. Peace out.

She had a vision in 1868 that led her to believe in a vegetable-based diet. In 1894, she had a conviction to banish meat from her diet and signed a pledge to do so.

Jesus and Vegetarianism Page 229 “Similar mistranslations have occurred with the use of the word fish. The misunderstanding of the use of this word results in a portrayal of Jesus as eating fish and encouraging the eating and killing of fish by others. In this early church, the word fish was a secret term. The Greek word for fish is I-CH-TH-U-S. It is made up of the first three letters of the words: Jesus Christos Theou Uios Soter. This translates as Jesus Christ Son of God Savior. The fish is also found as a Christian symbol in the catacombs. It is also symbolic of the Piscean Age which was emerging at that time. It is entirely conceivable that the word fish, as used in the New Testament, was used primarily in this deeper mystical way. Since Jesus taught in parables and metaphors, I believe its use in the New Testament was used to communicate this deeper meaning of fish rather than the literal idea of a dead fish that was physically eaten. In this context, the feeding of the fish to the people is a metaphor for the feeding of the higher teachings of the Master to the masses. In a second century book by Irenaeus (120-202 C.E.), it is twice stated that Jesus fed the multitude of 5,000 with bread alone. Others have pointed out that there is a submarine plant called the fish plant that was used as a food in that era, as well as during Babylonian times. These fish plants were dried in the sun, beaten into a mortar and baked into bread-like rolls that were sold in the open market. Perhaps in the translation, the plant portion of the word designated as the fish plant was omitted. It was only in the fourth century that fish was added to the bread offering in the scriptures. This suggests the second century version of the Gospel of Hebrews might be more authentic. In this second century translation, it says in Lection XXIX, verses 7 and 8: “And when he had taken the six loaves and the seven clusters of grapes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke the loaves, and the grapes also, and gave then to his disciples to set before them, and they divided them among them all.” “And they did all eat and were filled. And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that were left. And they that did eat of the loaves and of the fruits were about five thousand men, women and children, and He taught them many things.” In any case, the souls of the 5,000, we can assume, were at least fed with the mystical meaning of fish.” -Gabriel Cousens, M.D., “Conscious Eating” pp. 230-231 JR Insert from “Jesus & Vegetarianism” & “Essenes & Vegetarianism” files… Commentary: This is a very important anecdote to be aware of. Many people will tell you that Jesus ate fish, because the adulterated New Testament describes his feeding 5,000 people with a little bread and a few fish. In truth, Jesus actually fed the 5,000 with bread and grapes, not bread and fish. This and many other passages were altered after the enemies of Christ took control of the early Christian church. End of JR Insert from “Jesus & Vegetarianism” & “Essenes & Vegetarianism” files.

Comments of Jesus the Essene on Vegetarianism and Our Relationship with Nature and All Life Therein In the ancient Essene manuscripts, Jesus predicted that his true teachings would be altered after his death by his enemies, and that his church would become corrupt. But he also predicted that at a certain point in history (the cusp between the ages where we now stand) his true teachings would be restored. One of the signs that this day of restoration has arrived is the re-emergence and widespread dissemination in recent decades of many of his long suppressed teachings. The entire list is long, but three of them are 1) Reincarnation, 2) The Duality of God (both Father and Mother), and 3) Vegetarianism. On Christian Vegetarianism: Jesus was himself a vegetarian, and so were his disciples. In fact, Jesus made vegetarianism a requirement of discipleship. After the crucifixion of Jesus, it was not long before his church was taken over by his enemies, and his true followers executed as “heretics”. Christianity then became a government run religion, controlled by corrupt kings via their puppet-popes. They altered the New Testament and removed all references to Jesus’ doctrine of vegetarianism. That was ‘the Dark Age” and Jesus predicted all of it. But he also predicted a coming “Age of light” in which his original teachings and the Essene New Testament, The Gospel of the Holy Twelve, would be disseminated. The following passages related to vegetarianism (as well as our divinely appointed duty to show compassion and mercy to all creatures on the Earth, in the air, and in the water) are excerpted from The Gospel of the Holy Twelve. Each excerpt is accompanied by a commentary. Excerpt No. 1 Jesus said: “I say unto all who desire to be my disciples, keep your hands from bloodshed and let no flesh meat enter your mouths, for God is just and bountiful, who ordaineth that man shall live by the fruits and seeds of the earth alone.” Commentary: Jesus makes clear that vegetarianism is a requirement of discipleship. If you want to be a disciple of Jesus, vegetarianism is not “optional”; it is an absolute requirement. Do you know what a “disciple” is? The words “disciple” and “discipline” are closely related. A “disciple” is a student who has agreed to follow the “discipline” of a particular teacher. In this context, the word “discipline” means “a course of training”. A disciple of Jesus is a student who agrees to follow the course of training defined by him. Jesus makes clear that his training includes a vegetarian diet.

Excerpt No. 2 Speaking about animals, Jesus said: “And whatsoever ye do unto the least of these my children, ye do it unto me. For I am in them and they are in me. Yes, I am in all creatures and all creatures are in me. In all their joys I rejoice, in all their afflictions I am afflicted. Wherefore I say unto you: Be ye kind one to another, and to all the creatures of God.” Commentary: The above quotation does not mention vegetarianism, but it is significant because it provides the metaphysical basis for Jesus’ doctrine of vegetarianism: ANIMALS ARE SPIRITUAL BEINGS! The spark of God that Jesus is, and you are, and I am, is the basic identity of ALL CREATURES! Thus, Jesus says, we must be kind to all creatures. Jesus says that what we do to animals, we do to him. If you would not murder Jesus and turn his body into hamburger, don’t do it to Sister Cow either! For Jesus said, “In all their joys I rejoice, in all their afflictions I am afflicted.” Excerpt No. 3 Jesus said: “Verily I say unto you, for this end have I come into the world, that I may put away all blood offerings and the eating of the flesh of the beasts and the birds that are slain by men. “In the beginning, God gave to all, the fruits of the trees, and the seeds, and the herbs, for food; but those who loved themselves more than God, or their fellows, corrupted their ways, and brought diseases into their bodies, and filled the earth with lust and violence.” Commentary: If you want to know how significant vegetarianism is to the work of Jesus on Earth, contemplate the first sentence of this excerpt. But do not think that Jesus has come into the world only for the salvation of animals. Here Jesus indicates that the diseases, lust and violence that make life hell for humans is linked to their disobedience to the original vegetarian diet given by God. Jesus knows that as long as humanity continues to murder and eat animals, humanity will reap the corresponding karmic consequences: misery and death. When Jesus refers to the original vegetarian diet given by God, he is making reference to the dietary injunction given in Genesis 1, verse 29. Look it up! Excerpt No. 4 Jesus said: “Verily I say unto you, In the beginning, all creatures of God did find their sustenance in the herbs and the fruits of the earth alone, till the ignorance and the selfishness of man turned many of them from the use which God had given them, to that which was contrary to their original use, but even these shall yet return to their natural food, as it is written in the prophets, and their words shall not fail.” Commentary: Here is another reference to the original dietary injunction given by God in Genesis. That injunction was that all creatures should be vegetarian, human beings included. IN the above quotation, Jesus states that mankind was the first to abandon the vegetarian diet, and this was the cause of many other creatures abandonment of that diet as well. Once humanity began to kill other creatures, fear and violence spread to other species; the rule of the jungle came to be. But Jesus points to prophecy of Isaiah that all creatures will return to the original vegetarian diet. THE RULE OF GOD’S PEACEABLE KINGDOM WILL REPLACE THE RULE OF THE JUNGLE. Excerpt No. 5 Jesus said: “For of the fruits of the trees and the seeds of the herbs alone do I partake, and these are changed by the Spirit into my flesh and my blood. Of these alone and their like shall ye eat who believe in me, and are my disciples, for of these, in the Spirit, come life and health and healing unto man.” Commentary: Here Jesus declares that he, himself, is a vegetarian. He then makes very clear that his disciples must also adhere to a vegetarian diet. Excerpt No. 6 And the Angel said to Mary: “Therefore shall ye eat no flesh, nor drink strong drink, for the child shall be consecrated unto God from its mother’s womb, and neither flesh nor strong drink shall he take, nor shall razor touch his head.” Commentary: The Angel Gabriel, a member of the spiritual hierarchy, visited a young woman named Mary, and told her she was going to give birth to a holy child. The Angel told her that the child would never eat meat, and that she must be vegetarian also.

Excerpt No. 7 “And she brought forth her firstborn child in a cave, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger, which was in the cave; because there was no room for them in the Inn…And there were in the same cave an ox, and a horse, and an ass, and a sheep, and beneath the manger was a cat with her little ones, and there were doves also, overhead…Thus it came to pass that he was born in the midst of the animals which, through the redemption of man from ignorance and selfishness, he came to redeem from their sufferings, by the manifestation of the sons and the daughters of God.” Commentary: It was no coincidence that Jesus was born surrounded by animals: it was symbolic of the fact that his mission of love on Earth was to embrace all of the creatures of God, not only humans. Excerpt No. 8 “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came certain Magi men from the east to Jerusalem, who had purified themselves and tasted not of flesh nor of strong drink, that they might find the Christ whom they sought.” Commentary: The three wise men who came to visit the baby Jesus, abstained from eating meat as part of their preparation for finding the Christ. If the wise men had been eating meat, their consciousness would have been too dull and dense to find the Christ child. Here is a lesson for us all: Our higher spiritual faculties are relatively dormant and dull as long as we eat the bodies of murdered animals. The wise men followed the road which lead to the manger where Christ was born. If we are to find the Christ within the manger of our own heart, we must follow the same road which was walked by the three wise men: THE ROAD OF COMPASSION! The only way to find the Christ, is to follow the Way of the Christ! Vegetarianism is only one step on the road which leads to the Christ. But if you take not that one step, I tell you truly, you will never see the next step. Excerpt No. 9 Jesus said: “I am come to end the sacrifices and feasts of blood, and if ye cease not offering and eating of flesh and blood, the wrath of God shall not cease from you, even as it came to your fathers in the wilderness, who lusted for flesh, and they ate to their content, and were filled with rottenness, and the plague consumed them. And I say unto you, though you be gathered together in my bosom, if ye keep not my commandments I will cast you forth. For if ye keep not the lesser mysteries, who shall give you the greater?” Commentary: In the above, Jesus begins by explaining the karmic consequences of killing and eating animals: the eater of meat will be filled with rottenness (it is a fact that the human colon is too long to pass meat through before it begins to rot) and will experience disease. Jesus then makes clear that even if we gather together in a building with his name nailed to the door (a Christian church), if we do not obey his commandment to be vegetarian, we are not his disciples. Jesus ends the above statement by identifying vegetarianism as one of the “lesser mysteries” on the spiritual path. Until we take that step, Jesus will not reveal his advanced teachings (the “greater mysteries”) to us.

Excerpt No. 10 Jesus said: “How many loaves have ye?” And when they knew, they said, “Six loaves of bread and seven clusters of grapes”. And Jesus commanded them to all sit down in companies of fifty upon the grass…And when he had taken the six loaves and the seven clusters of grapes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke the loaves, and the grapes also, and gave then to his disciples to set before them, and they divided them among them all. And they did all eat and were filled. And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that were left. And they that did eat of the loaves and of the fruits were about 5,000 men, women and children, and he taught them many things.” Commentary: This is a very important anecdote to be aware of. Excerpt No. 11 Jesus said: “Ye shall not eat the flesh, nor drink the blood of any slaughtered creature, nor yet anything which bringeth disorder to your health or senses.” Commentary: Jesus instructs us to not only abstain from eating meat, but also to abstain from anything else which impairs our health or senses. Obviously, this injunction applies to junk food, that is, to anything that is full of sugar, salt, chemicals, additives, pesticides, etc. Instead, make raw fruits, vegetables and live sprouts the mainstay of your diet. First give up eating meat, then begin eliminating such unhealthy things as refined sugar, salt, and all heavily processed foods. Excerpt No. 12 And the birds gathered around Jesus, and welcomed him with their song, and other living creatures came unto his feet, and he fed them, and they ate out of his hands…And as Jesus entered a certain village he saw a young cat which had none to care for her, and she was hungry and cried unto him, and he picked her up…And when he came into the village he sat food and drink before the cat, and she ate and drank…And he gave her unto one of his disciples, a widow, and she took care of the cat. And some of the people said, “This man careth for all creatures, are they his brothers and sisters that he should love them?” And Jesus said unto them, “Verily these are your fellow creatures of the great household of God, yea, they are your brethren and sisters, having the same breath of life in the eternal. And whosoever careth for one of the least of these, and giveth it to eat and drink in its need, the same doeth it unto me, and whoso willingly suffereth one of these to be in want, and defendeth it not when evilly treated, doeth the evil unto me.” Commentary: Not only should we not eat animals or wear their skin and fur, Jesus teaches us to care for them and defend them from evil. This is a divine obligation as part of our keeping and living the precepts of the Way. Excerpt No. 13 And some of Jesus’ disciples came and told him of a certain Egyptian, a son of Belial, who taught that it was lawful to torment animals, if their sufferings brought any profit to men. And Jesus said unto them, “Verily I say unto you, they who partake of benefits which are gotten by wronging one of God’s creatures, cannot be righteous; nor can they touch holy things, or teach the mysteries of the kingdom, whose hands are stained with blood, or whose mouths are defiled with flesh. God giveth the grains and fruits for food.” Commentary: Jesus denounces all forms of animal exploitation and tells his disciples they must not partake of benefits which are gotten by wronging one of God’s creatures. In keeping with these principles, we should not only be vegetarian, but also abstain from wearing leather or fur or purchasing any products that involve cruelty to animals. As disciples of the Christ, we should oppose all cruel forms of animal experimentation, even when done in the name of “medical research”. Once you have given up eating the bodies of dead animals, then give up wearing their bodies as well. Are your shoes made of leather? Is your belt leather? Does your soap contain animal fat? Commit yourself, body and soul, to walk the path of harmlessness. Excerpt No. 14 And on a certain day as he was passing by a mountain side night unto the desert, there he met him a lion and many men were pursuing him with stones and javelins to slay him. But Jesus rebuked them saying, “Why hunt ye these creatures of God, which are more noble than you? By the cruelties of many generations they were made the enemies of man who should have been his friends. If the power of God is shown in them, so also is shown his long suffering and compassion. Cease ye to persecute this creature who desireth not to harm you, see ye not how he fleeth from you, and is terrified by your violence?” And the lion came and lay at the feet of Jesus, and showed love to him; and the people were astonished, and said, “Lo, this man loveth all creatures and hath power to command even these beasts from the desert, and they obey him.” Commentary: As Christ hath done, so we also. Excerpt No. 15 “And wheresoever there are seven gathered together in My Name there am I in the midst of them; yea, if only there be three or two; and where there is but one who prayeth in secret, I am with that one. Raise the stone, and there thou shalt find me. Cleave the wood, and there am I. For in the fire and in the water, even as in every living form, God is manifest as its Life and its Substance.” And the Lord said, “If thy brother hath sinned in word seven times a day, and seven times a day hath made amendment, receive him.” Simon said to him, “Seven times a day?” The Lord answered and said unto him, “I tell thee also unto seventy times seven, for even in the Prophets, after they were anointed by the Holy Spirit, utterance of sin was found.” “Be ye therefore considerate, be tender, be ye pitiful, be ye kind, not to your own kind alone, but to every creature which is within your care, for ye are to them as gods, to whom they look in their need. Be ye slow to anger for many sin in anger which they repent of, when their anger was past.” Commentary: These passages are excerpted from the unadulterated Sermon on the Mount as reported in The Gospel of Holy Twelve. Once again, Jesus exhorts us to show all kindness and compassion to all living creatures.

Excerpt No. 16 And as Jesus was going with some of his disciples he met with a certain man who trained dogs to hunt other creatures. And he said to the man, “Why doest thou thus?” And the man said, “By this I live and what profit is there to any in these creatures I hunt?” Jesus said, “Thou lackest wisdom and love. Lo, every creature which God has made has a purpose for living. And, for thy living, behold the fields yielding their increase, and the fruit bearing trees and the herbs; what needest thou more than these which honest work of thy hands will not give thee? Woe to the strong who misuse their strength. Woe to the crafty who hurt the creatures of God. Woe to the hunters for they shall be hunted.” And the man marveled, and left off training the dogs to hunt, and taught them to save life rather than destroy. And the man learned of the doctrine of Jesus and became his disciple. Commentary: Jesus condemns the practice of hunting. Anyone that believes they are a disciple of the Christ (the very embodiment of love and compassion), and yet gets enjoyment from blowing the brains out of a deer or rabbit, should contemplate his words spoken above to the hunter: “WOE TO THE HUNTERS, FOR THEY SHALL BE HUNTED!” Excerpt No. 17 Now, Joseph and Mary, his parents, went up to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover and they observed the feast after the manner of their brethren, who abstained from bloodshed and eating of flesh and from strong drink. And when Jesus was twelve years old, he went to Jerusalem with them after the custom of the feast… …And on a certain day the child Jesus came to a place where a snare was set for birds, and there were some boys there. And the child Jesus said to them, “Who has set this snare for the innocent creatures of God? Behold in a snare shall they in like manner be caught. And the child Jesus moved his hands over twelve dead sparrows, and said to them, “Go, fly away, and while ye live remember me.” And the sparrows arose and flew away. Commentary: Joseph and Mary, the parents of Jesus, are identified as Essenes, the “brethren who abstained from bloodshed and the eating of flesh”. The Essenes were the only sect that celebrated the Passover Feast without killing and eating a lamb. Jesus was raised in a family that abhorred cruelty to animals and practiced compassion and mercy to all living creatures. His was taught to help and protect animals from infancy. Excerpt No. 18 Judas Iscariot said unto Jesus, “Master, behold the unleavened bread, the mingled wine and the oil and the herbs, but where is the lamb that Moses commanded?” For Judas had bought the lamb, but Jesus had forbidden that it be killed…Again, Judas said, “Master, is it not written in the law that a lamb must be slain for the Passover within the gates?” Jesus said, “Verily I say unto you, for this end have I come into the world, that I may put away all blood offerings and the eating of the flesh of the animals that are slain by men. In the beginning, God gave to all, the fruits of the trees, and the seeds, and the herbs, for food; but those who loved themselves more than God, or their fellows, corrupted their ways, and brought diseases into their bodies, and filled the earth with lust and violence.” And after the Paschal Supper, Judas Iscariot went to the house of Caiaphas, a Jewish leader, and said unto him, “Behold, Jesus has celebrated the Passover, within the gates, but with the Mazza (bread) in place of the lamb. I indeed bought a lamb, but he forbade that it should be killed,,,” And Caiaphas rent his clothes and said…”He hath done the deed which is worthy of death, for it is a weighty transgression of the law.” Commentary: This is excerpted from the account (in The Gospel of the Holy Twelve) of the last supper prior to the arrest and crucifixion of Jesus. One of the primary reasons that Jesus was arrested was his refusal to permit a lamb to be slain at the Jewish Passover meal. Judas Iscariot was paid blood money by the Pharisees in the Sanhedrin to provide them with evidence they could use to prove Jesus had broken the law, so that they could arrest and put him on trial for his life. They viewed the practice of flesh eating to be crucial to their psychological control and spiritual enslavement of the masses. Hence, the vegetarian doctrines of Jesus threatened to unseat them from power and over turn the existing religious and economic order. You may view this as being irrelevant in today’s world, but is it really? Does not the eating of flesh have the same debilitating consequences (on health, spirituality and economics) today as it did 2,000 years ago? Excerpt No. 19 A disciple of Jesus asked him a question, saying, “Master, wilt thou that infants be received into the congregation in like manner as Moses commanded by circumcision?” And Jesus answered, “For those who are in Christ there is no cutting of the flesh, nor shedding of blood. Let the infant of eight days be presented unto the Father-Mother who is in Heaven, with prayer and thanksgiving, and let the presbyter (elder) sprinkle pure water upon it,…and let its parents see to it that it is brought up in the ways of righteousness, neither eating flesh, nor drinking strong drink, nor hurting the creatures which God hath given into the hands of man to protect.” Commentary: Jesus states that it is the duty of his disciples to raise their children as vegetarians, and teach them to love the animals God has created. No child wants to kill and eat animals. Rather, they are trained to eat animals by their parents and society. If a child is taught the reasons for vegetarianism when they are first learning to use language, and if those early lessons are repeated throughout childhood, the child will never want to eat animals.

Excerpt No. 20 A disciple of Jesus asked him a question, saying, “If there come to us any that eat flesh and drink strong drink, shall we receive them?” And Jesus said unto him, “Let such abide in the outer court till they cleanse themselves from these grosser evils; for till they perceive, and repent of these, they are not fit to receive the higher mysteries.” Commentary: This is excerpted from a dialogue on the subject of how the Essene-Christian Church should be organized after his crucifixion. A wanted to know what they should do if a meat eater wanted to join. Should they let a meat eater be a member? Jesus’ answer was “no”; a meat eater could not be admitted to the fellowship until he quit eating meat. However, Jesus said it was permissible for a meat eater to attend outer-circle meetings, in order to learn the basic teachings which would help them give up the gross evil of eating flesh. Excerpt No. 21 Jesus said to his disciples, “There shall arise after you, men of perverse minds who shall through ignorance or through craft, suppress many things which I have spoken to you, and lay to me things which I never taught, sowing tares among the good wheat which I have given you to sow in the world. Then shall the truth of God endure in the contradiction of sinners, for thus it hath been, and thus it will be. But the time cometh when the things which they have hidden shall be revealed and made known, and the truth shall make free those which were bound.” Commentary: Jesus prophesied that, after his death, his teachings would be altered by his enemies and his church would become corrupt. But he also prophesied that, at a certain time in history (the cusp between the ages where we now stand), his authentic teachings would come to light and be taught openly to all who sought truth in their hearts and souls.

The Flaw in Genesis 9:3. The Flaw has to do with the purpose of the Flood. The Flood was to get rid of the Wicked people, so only the Un-Wicked would survive. And then, because of the Flood, those Un-Wicked people were then forced to do 2 Wicked things. 1) Kill an Animal. 2) Eat an Animal. Long ago, Buddha knew that people in the future would come up with many sophisticated arguments to defend their Meat Eating and one example that’s used quite often by Christians has a Huge Flaw in it and that’s where the Clean Meat after the Flood comes in. The Flaw has to do with the purpose of the Flood. The Flood was to get rid of the Wicked people, so only the Un-Wicked would survive. And then, because of the Flood, those Un-Wicked people were then forced to do 2 Wicked things. 1) Kill an Animal. 2) Eat it. God didn’t Change our Anatomy. We’re still Designed to Eat Plants. Oh, Eat the Animals, but you got to make sure they’re Clean Animals! But wait a second; Sin came into the World through our Mouths - through Eating. It’s Eating the Wrong Food that makes us Wicked. So we’re going to get rid of everybody and start anew, but we’re going to start by doing the thing that made us Wicked to begin with. There’s No Logic in that. There’s a Huge Flaw in this Reasoning. It Lacks Reasoning. It Lacks Logic. Let’s get rid of the Wicked and turn the Un-Wicked into the Wicked ! We’re Eating the Wrong Food! We Stopped Eating Biophotons. Now we’ve got the Wrong Mentality. Let’s make that Mentality even Worse by Eating Dead Animal Flesh. It only Darkens the Dark Side of our Behavior. Even the Grain-Eating Nations that were Not Eating Biophotons and Eating Plants that they’re Not Biologically Designed to Eat did better in every Area of Life than all of the Meat Eating Nations, except for 2 Main Areas. One was their War-like Tendencies and the other was their Obsession with Sex. As long as we Eat our Biophotons and Eat our Species Specific Diet, we will have Abundance. And as soon as we Stop Eating Biophotons and Stop Eating our Species Specific Diet, we have Scarcity. It’s really that simple. Life is an Illusion. Restrict your Dietary Choices and we have Abundance. Eat whatever you want and we have Scarcity.

Claiming that Jesus was vegan isn't aligned with biblical evidence. The Scriptures clearly show that Jesus not only consumed fish but also served it to others (Luke 24:42-43, John 21:9-13). He partook in the Passover meal, which included lamb as per Jewish tradition (Luke 22:7-15). Additionally, after the Flood, God explicitly permitted the consumption of meat, saying, 'Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you' (Genesis 9:3-4), with the only condition being to not eat meat with its lifeblood. Jesus’s actions and teachings emphasized compassion, balance, and gratitude for the food provided by God, whether plant or animal-based. To suggest he was vegan misrepresents the broader biblical narrative, which supports responsible and respectful consumption of meat as part of God’s provision.

So Jesus would be very happy to watch all the atrocities, life long abuses, screams, and the killings of animals, isn't it? All the justifications meat eaters come up stems from one and only reason: addiction to meat eating and resistance to looking beyond.

@@undergrace1808 You think it is just a matter of taste? I think it is not that simple. I think it is to sustain health. Many people can't sustain health on a plant based diet. Veganism _might_ work for some people, but they better not have sensitivities to gluten, FODMAP, histamines, or lectins, oxalate, solanine or other plant toxins, or have insulin resistance or metabolic problems which make them sensitive to carbs. Also, they better not have any autoimmune conditions - because a lot of plant foods (and high carb diets in general) tend to aggravate those. And even for people _without_ those problems, they need a lot of resources and knowledge to buy and make sufficiently well balanced meals, B12 needs to be supplemented, as well as iodine and omega 3. In cold countries also vitamin D in the winter, which needs to be combined with K2 and a multi-Magnesium (there are 11 types of Mag and they are all needed). Also, half the population have problems converting beta-carotene to vitamin A because of a common mutation. Our ancestors have eaten fish and meat for over 2 million years, and as long as we have been homo sapiens ( who have existed for about 300 000 years, modern homo sapiens: 160 000 years ). And that being said, conventional plant agriculture cause a lot of suffering, as well - and death - as well because of the pesticides, the destroying of natural habitats and the soil, and not the least, the (unintended) killing of animals during the harvesting of crops So before you judge others, and look forward to seeing them judged to eternal suffering in hell, try to think that the situation just might not be _quite_ as black and white here.

Jesus did say NOT to Kill Animals... And Jesus continued: "God commanded your forefathers: 'Thou shalt not kill.' But their heart was hardened and they killed. Then Moses desired that at least they should not kill men, and he suffered them to kill beasts. And then the heart of your forefathers was hardened yet more, and they killed men and beasts likewise. But I do say to you: Kill neither men, nor beasts, nor yet the food which goes into your mouth. For if you eat living food, the same will quicken you, but if you kill your food, the dead food will kill you also. For life comes only from life, and from death comes always death. For everything which kills your foods, kills your bodies also. And everything which kills your bodies kills your souls also. And your bodies become what your foods are, even as your spirits, likewise, become what your thoughts are. Therefore, eat not anything which fire, or frost, or water has destroyed. For burned, frozen and rotted foods will burn, freeze and rot your body also. Be not like the foolish husbandman who sowed in his ground cooked, and frozen, and rotten seeds. And the autumn came, and his fields bore nothing. And great was his distress. But be like that husbandman who sowed in his field living seed, and whose field bore living ears of wheat, paying a hundredfold for the seeds which he planted. For I tell you truly, live only by the fire of life, and prepare not your foods with the fire of death, which kills your foods, your bodies and your souls also."

You are so right it was the most influential medieval theologian Thomas Aquinas, used the philosophy of Aristotle to assert that animals don't have souls. It has had a devastating influence on Christianity and western society ever since. Unfortunately it could have been very different had theologians like Bonaventure or Duns Scotus had been favoured instead 😔.

And the prince of enunchs said unto Daniel, "I fear my Lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? Then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king. Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the enunchs had set over Daniel, Hanani'ah, Misha-el, and Azari'ah, Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us vegetables to eat, and water to drink. Then let our contenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants. So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days. At the end of ten days their countenance appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children who did eat the portion of the king's meat.” -Daniel 1:8, 11-15 3. “The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together…. For the wickedness of those who live in it, the animals and the birds are swept away, and because people said, “He is blind to our ways.” Jeremiah 12:4 9. “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God’s sight.” -Luke 12:6 10. “Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your judgments are like the great deep; you save humans and animals alike, O Lord.” -Psalms 36:6 11. “Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.” -Matthew 5:7 12. “He who slaughters an ox is like one who kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, like one who breaks a dog's neck; he who presents a grain offering, like one who offers pig's blood; he who makes a memorial offering of frankincense, like one who blesses an idol. These have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations; -Isaiah 66:3 13. Better is a dinner of herbs where love is than a fattened ox and hatred with it. -Proverbs 15:17 14. For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no pre-eminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth? The Bible as a whole is not really promoting veganism, though: Yes, in the beginning God said eat plants & fruits, but then it goes on saying that God gave Adam and Eve clothes made from animal skins, and later he blessed Abel's animal offering but not Cain's plant based offering (the fruits of the soil), and the plant farmer, Cain, then killed his animal herding brother out of jealousy, and became the first murderer. And from then on there are a lot of verses telling what meat you can eat and not eat, and some about how to prepare meat and animal products (to eat milk and meat separate etc). And a _lot_ of rules about animal offerings, which are obligatory in the Old Testament. And in the New Testament Jesus told his disciples to follow the law as taught by the Pharisees (his main problem with the Pharisees in that verse was that they didn't actually follow their own teachings themselves). And nowhere in the New Testament it says not to eat meat or animal products. Jesus himself fed fish to the people (the fish and loaves miracle), according to the Bible, and also helped his fisherman disciples get a good catch of fish. Even John the Babtist who was widely known for his ascetic lifestyle was no vegan, he ate locusts and honey. Jesus also says all foods are pure: "“Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him, because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?” (Mark 7: 18-20). And then you have Romans 14: 2-3 "For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables. Yahweh is a very specific deity promoted by a priest class to the Hebrew people. The dedicated temples were a place of blood sacrifice. You have basically gone through the Bible and cherry picked verses to promote a very particular world view. That verse in Proverbs for instance, it speaks against "gluttony" - not eating meat per se. "I would debate anyone trying to say that Yahwah or Yahshua ever promoted anything other than vegan lifestyle" You'd lose in my view, but feel free to approach Bible scholars on here for the debate and share links.

@@JB.zero.zero.1 YHWH IS the correct Hebrew term as well as YahWAH (look up Yah in Hebrew and WAH in hebrew Yew and Yeh mean nothing in hebrew). Yahwah was removed from the Bible 7,000 times...later when this was continually fought against by the original christian community and pastors...Anton Lavey wrote a book and made a demon name Yahweh or Yehwah (one of those, something close to His name but not His name). He did this to throw people off. If you actually dig you would realize this. I researched this topic for almost 7 years bro. And yeah surface level, I came to the same conclusion as you until I dug deeper and realized there was deeper deception going on. You have to really really dig to get the truth sometimes. Look up the videos that support his name being called Yahwah/YHWH and they will even give you references to exactly what I am speaking about. And then do the research, don't just take my word for it. God is Godre'el from the Book of Enoch, mentioned as the top fallen angel that taught men war, murder, and violence. LORD in all caps was used as Baal back in the day by the Hebrew language and Jesus means Hail Zues. This is why if someone else is named Jesus today people call them "hezues"....His real name is Yahshua. His name is in the father's name. Look up what Yahshua means in Heberw. It means salvation. This is also why many sources say that another name for Yahshua is Joshua. J didn't used to exist in the english language and came about later which is why you'll see how interchangeable they are.

Coming from a strong Christian background and then becoming vegan --- studying Scripture is most important. Because now you look at scripture not through a religious lens but through a lens of compassion. Who is God? What is His character like? Would he order murdering and sacrifice of animals and killing of millions of people in other tribes?? The Genesis 9 concession story is another twisting of scripture to lay words in God's mouth. Think about it and work through it without a religious lens, just science and common sense. Lets break this down: Noah and the animals are 2 x 2 stuck on the ARK for almost a year. Genesis 7: 14they and every kind of wild animal, livestock, crawling creature, bird, and winged creature. 15They came to Noah to enter the ark, two by two of every creature with the breath of life. 16And they entered, the male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.… There is no way Noah could sustain those animals without intervention of God and His angels. Take this back to the Israelites in the desert - God fed them and their creatures with them MANNA from heaven. Noah sent the crow out and it didnt come back He sent the dove out to check if vegetation has returned and the dove returned the second time with an olive branch/leave which means vegetation has returned. There where primates on the ARK and many herbivores. God would have provided regrowth of vegetation for all the Baboons, Monkeys, Gorillas, Cattle which are all herbivores/frugivores. Just as in Genesis 1: 29-30 was God's commandment. God does not rescue Noah and the animals and when the ARK lands on dry ground say: "THERE YOU GO I AM DONE WITH YOU - NOW YOU GO AND EAT EACH OTHER OR DIRT, I DONT CARE!!" God ALWAYS provides and He finished what he started. That is WHO He is, that is HIS character. He is THE Creator, THE Provider. So, Genesis 9 (concession) was a twisting of scripture by the Scribes and Pharisees The concession is the biggest lie ever inserted in Genesis If God fed 8 x people and hundreds of animals for a year ON the ArK He would have fed those same 8 x people and hundreds of animals OFF the ARK The concession is just an excuse that NEVER ended and escalated into the abattoirs, hunting and fishing exploitation that it is today. SO HERE I COMPLETELY DISAGREE WITH KAMERON - ACTUALLY THIS IS THE ONLY ISSUE I DISAGREE WITH KAMERON ON

Because experience has taught me that every religious person actually creates God in their own image which is why there are so many religions and even more denominations within religions. Whatever their views and outlook and whatever the Bible or other Holy Book says their God always agrees with their outlook on life. God is actually a crux and a validation. Once you realise that God is essentially a form of schizophrenia religious faith is exposed.

Christians typically believe Jesus was/is God but don’t like to associate Jesus with the actions of the OT God. Forcing humans to sacrifice animals and being infatuated with blood and the smell of burning flesh are relevant here. Jesus also plainly stated he wasn’t there to change anything about the Jewish law. When you get down to it, there are many conflicting stories about Jesus and the events of the day. You can cherry-pick certain verses and say “Look! This supports what I’m saying” but you can also find verses that completely go against that. This is why there are so many different denominations and religions that have developed from the Bible. Besides, it’s not true anyway. There are plenty of examples of Jesus referring to animals in negative ways, exploiting them, etc shown below as well as clarifications about what the guest said about certain passages. - Jesus requests a donkey and/or colt to ride into Jerusalem. - Jesus caused Simon Peter’s fishing net to fill with fish. - Jesus refusing to eat the passover meal was not an avoidance of meat, it was an avoidance of eating and drinking altogether. - When Jesus went into the temple, he drove people out because they were buying and selling in the temple, not specifically because they were selling animals. There were money changers specifically mentioned as well. It was about doing anything in the temple outside of worshipping God. - When Jesus exorcised the demons and sent them into the pigs, that was having mercy on the demons. Luke 8’s account of this shows that the demons were afraid he would send them to the abyss otherwise. Besides, you are being deceptive here whether intentionally or not. True, Jesus didn’t force the demons to go into the pigs, but the demons specifically asked if Jesus would allow them to go into the herd of pigs out of mercy. His response is “Go”. That’s clearly him condoning the action. This also shows just how little he and the wider Jewish culture thought of pigs if even demons were held in higher regard. - Jesus makes multiple references to the keeping of animals and other things in his parables. If you’re trying to make a good point, why would you regularly refer to exploitation of animals if you have compassion for them? - Jesus replies to a Canaanite woman in a derogatory manner that not only degrades her status in his eyes but also that of dogs. - Jesus refers to the kingdom of heaven as a net cast into the sea that gathers of every kind - Jesus says that humans are of more value than “many sparrows” - I will admit, I don’t know of any instance where it mentions Jesus eating any animals or directly harming them but a lack of such cases doesn’t mean he didn’t. Lack of evidence is not evidence itself. - Also, in regard to the whole “compassion” and “peaceful” imagery. Jesus said he did not come to send peace but a sword. I’m a vegan atheist but I was a Christian for 30 years. I became a vegan after becoming an atheist. I support people going vegan for whatever reason. If Christians become vegan because of this movie, awesome. But I would much rather them come to veganism for factual and demonstrable reasons because if they lose their faith, they may also leave veganism because they will have gone vegan under false pretenses. This is clearly also Christian proselytizing. I do not support people twisting things to make a religion seem to support something it doesn’t.

“An omni-God should not have created predation in the animal world, either. The amount of animal suffering is atrocious, as creatures prey on one another to feed themselves. The extent of animal suffering cries out against the existence of a good God. This horrific suffering is perhaps the most difficult problem of all. To say these creatures do not feel pain is to reject the overwhelming evidence of evolution that proves we are all related as creatures. In lieu of this, an omni-God should have created all living things as vegans like herbivores such as rabbits, deer, sheep, cows, and hippos. And in order to be sure there is enough vegetation for all of us, God could have reduced our mating cycles and/or made edible vegetation like apple trees, corn stalks, blueberry bushes, wheat, and tomato plants grow as plenteous as wild weeds do today. ¶ An all-powerful God didn’t even have to create us such that we needed to eat anything at all. Since theists believe their god can do miracles, he could sustain us all with miraculously created nutrients inside our biological systems throughout our lives, and we wouldn’t know anything different. Such a deity could simply do a perpetual miracle here as well. In fact, there is nothing prohibiting god from feeding us by the process of photosynthesis, just like plant life, thereby not requiring animals at all. Given that God didn’t do this, many animals are farmed for human consumption under horrible conditions in intensive factory farms, abused in experimental labs, or trapped in horrible ways without any condemnations of animal abuse in God’s alleged revelation in the Bible.” - John W. Loftus, _God and Horrendous Suffering_ “Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then from whence comes evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?” - Epicurus “HERMES: How many are willing to criticize a god by the standards of reason and justice? ¶ SOCRATES: [Ponders.] All who are just, I suppose. For how can anyone be just if he follows a god of whose moral rightness he is not persuaded? And how is it possible to be persuaded of someone’s moral rightness without first forming a view about which qualities are morally right?” - David Deutsch, _A Dream of Socrates_ “Whoever praises him as a God of love does not think highly enough of love itself.” - Nietzsche, _Thus Spake Zarathustra_ “Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed. Results like these do not belong on the résumé of a Supreme Being. This is the kind of shit you’d expect from an office temp with a bad attitude. the truth is jesus makes tash peterson look tame, he was the most 'aggressive' animal rights activist "And all those round about him listened to his words with amazement, for his word was with power, and he taught quite otherwise than the priests or the scribes. And though the sun was now set, they de parted not to their homes. They sat round about Jesus and asked him: "Master, which are these laws of life? Rest with us awhile longer and teach us. We would listen to your teaching that we may be healed and become righteous." And Jesus himself sat down in their midst and said: "I tell you truly, none can be happy, except he do the Law." And the others answered: "We all do the laws of Moses, our lawgiver, even as they are written in the holy scriptures." And Jesus answered: "Seek not the law in your scriptures, for the law is life, whereas the scripture is dead. I tell you truly, Moses received not his laws from God in writing, but through the living word. The law is living word of living God to living prophets for living men. In everything that is life is the law written. You find it in the grass, in the tree, in the river, in the mountain, in the birds of heaven, in the fishes of the sea; but seek it chiefly in yourselves. For I tell you truly, all living things are nearer to God than the scripture which is without life. God so mad life and all living things that they might by the everlasting word teach the laws of the true God to man. God wrote not the laws in the pages of books, but in your heart and in your spirit. They are in your breath, your blood, your bone; in your flesh, you bowels, your eyes, your ears, and in every little part of your body. The are present in the air, in the water, in the earth, in the plants, in the sunbeams, in the depths and in the heights. They all speak to you that you may understand the tongue and the will of the living God. But you shut your eyes that you may not see, and you shut your ears that you may not hear. I tell you truly, that the scripture is the work of man, but life and all its hosts are the work of our God. Wherefore do you not listen to the words of God which are written in His works? And wherefore do you study the dead scriptures which are the work of the hands of men?" "How many we read the laws of God elsewhere than in the scriptures? Where are they written? Read them to use from there where you see them, for we know nothing else but the scriptures which we have inherited from our forefathers. Tell us the laws of which you speak, that hearing them we may be healed and justified." Jesus said: "You do not understand the words of life, because you are in death. Darkness darkens your eyes and your ears are stopped with deafness. For I tell you, it profits you not at all that you pore over dead scriptures if by your deeds you deny him who has given you the scriptures. I tell you truly, God and his laws are not in that which you do. They are not in gluttony and wine-bibbing, neither in riotous living, nor in lustfulness, nor in seeking after riches, nor yet in hatred of your enemies. For all these things are far from the true God and his angels. But all these things come from the kingdom of darkness and the lord of all evils. And all these things do you carry in yourselves; and so the word and the power of God enter not into you, because all manner of evil and all manner of abominations have their dwelling in your body and in your spirit. If you will that the living God’s word and his power may enter you, defile not your body and your spirit; for the body is the temple of the spirit, and the spirit is the temple of God. Purify, therefore, the temple, that the Lord of the temple may dwell therein and occupy a place that is worthy of him."

There is nothing attributed to Jesus in the Bible that supports the Vegan position. I'm sorry, but it's a real stretch to say so and you are entitled to your beliefs of course, but will remain part of a curious sect, on the fringes of the global christian church. I am not christian by the way, but used to read the gospels and the letters daily, along with association with a variety of believers - none of whom were Vegan. I wish there were "clear" instructions in the Bible to help promote Veganism, but there isn't - I looked. We need to fully embrace and understand the tradition(s)/culture that spawned the christian church, and when doing so, we see people who ate meat - it was a part of their daily practice and was that way for 1000s of years. I'm sure there were "sects" who were vegetarian, but these would have been outliers.

@@JB.zero.zero.1 "There is nothing attributed to Jesus in the Bible that supports the Vegan position" are you a hebrew scholar? no, you're not. you're inaccurate, it's commonly known that yashuah was influenced heavily by the essenes, there is an abundance of evidence in the bible for veganism (never mind the additional texts that were removed) Is jesus different of a different moral code/way of being than the creator? no. ofcourse he isn't. and the creator told you what you were to eat, coincidentally it's also what you were designed to eat - fruit nuts and seeds, as per genesis 1:29.. that's vegan mate. the garden of eden, was vegan - who decided on the canon of 66? answer it, many answers to your quarrels lie within the answer, you're relying on texts that were decided upon by MEN and then you're extrapolating what those texts say and claiming they're divinely ordained.. jesus was not a christian the bible is the most heavily bastardized book in the history of mankind "I am not christian by the way, but used to read the gospels and the letters daily, along with association with a variety of believers - none of whom were Vegan." so you had your own little study group of a bunch of texts that were decided upon by men (the text above is one you should probably read, along with other texts that were removed, such as enoch, jasher, gospel of the holy twelve etc.. and if you want to debate canon..i'll happily debate the canon with you, it's sort of an easy position for me to defend; you think the creator ordained bloodshed, to slit an animals throat and pull their innards out, sprinkle blood places, eat their bodies i think the creator wants us to leave his creations that he created to have the capacity to feel pain and suffer which also gives them the capacity for great pleasure and love you had a little study group with a variety of believers none of which were vegan? what does this prove? nothing "I wish there were "clear" instructions in the Bible to help promote Veganism, but there isn't - I looked." you're not the arbitrator on if there is or there isn't mate, and there is. if you're genuinely interested in the subject (i can see that you're not so this is really for the third party viewer) then study removed texts that were previously canon, read shifting the torah paradigm "We need to fully embrace and understand the tradition(s)/culture that spawned the christian church, and when doing so, we see people who ate meat - it was a part of their daily practice and was that way for 1000s of years." why do we need to fully embrace the culture that spawned the christian church? any logical answer? "when doing so, we see people who ate meat - it was a part of their daily practice and was that way for 1000s of years."" or you can follow the other thread through scripture and you can understand there is more than one creator being spoken of, two threads to follow, one of bloodshed the other of mercy the creators name was removed over 6.800 times from the text, yet jb zero zero 1 thinks he can read hebrew and that he understands which creator is being spoken of.. unbeknownst to you you're worshipping and making excuses for baal.. the irony

@@JB.zero.zero.1 A lot of evidence for vegetarian; some circumstantial, some direct. Some evidence for vegan. Even Biblical scholars and archaeologists unconnected to this film assume Jesus was a vegetarian. Check out Prof. James Tabor, for example.

I watched just bits and pieces, but the pigs part was really bad. If Jesus had powers to cast them out and if they begged him to send them somewhere (to pigs), that implies that he can choose or allow where will they go. The demons wouldn't have begged him to cast them into pigs if they could freely go to pigs themselves. And that's according to Matthew. According to Mark, Jesus allowed it (12 The demons begged Jesus, “Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.” 13 He gave them permission, and the impure spirits came out and went into the pigs.). The same is with Luke. So, the guy is at best sloppy and at worst dishonest.
@JB.zero.zero.127 күн бұрын
It didn't happen, obviously - in terms of the story though, the pig was classed as an "unclean" animal to the Jews, so demons being cast into pigs, was the writers way of accentuating the vile debased nature of these fallen angels. These are just stories at the end of the day - no actual evidence, and used to inspire belief in the spirits / demons / ghosts / ghouls and all of those things that we had no adequate explanation for.

Also, in Luke 8, it gives the context that the demons would be sent to the abyss otherwise. So Jesus sending them into the swine was an act of mercy toward the demons, apparently. This interview was rife with Christian BS cherry-picking and twisting things around. Surprise surprise. I'm vegan and support anyone going vegan for whatever reason but this interview feels like Christian proselytizing to me.

@@JB.zero.zero.1 And for Jesus to send the demons into the swine instead of the abyss (as it mentions in Luke 8) out mercy just shows how little they really thought of pigs if even demons are in higher regard.
