presents episode 1880 | DR CHRISTY KESSLERING w/ Jesse Chappus
Limited studies: chemo with water fasting; chemo with
severe calorie restriction fasting
But, these are not sustainable, so very short term
Keto, however, is fasting-mimicking and is long-term
"I wish the cancer medical community would look at
Warberg Effect therapy much more”
The pathophysiology is clear that this
does indeed work.
My patients tell me they feel great within days, even
though they know they still have cancer…
You can see people get healthier
"Why is there such resistance in most medical offices,
when we talk about diet and cancer?”
Mostly it is: don't lose weight while
going through therapy
Trials that have used water or calorie restricted fasting
around the chemo sessions themselves have worked…
-patients don't take steroids
-patients have had better symptom outcomes
-water only fasting: fewer hospitalizations
When fasting or fast-mimicking:
-pulling fuel for normal cells from our
own body fat stores
With cachectic patients...I prefer no fasting, but feeding
themselves with good micronutrients: minerals, vitamins,
amino acids, fatty acids to restore their fat and muscle
mass
