This is my FS Streethawk Lightbar. It features 4 slow rotators, front takedowns, alley lights, rear flashers and center speaker. The lightbar is extremely clean and was hardly used. These are all too common, however it's nice to have one that looks new.

The first and second agency I worked for ran the streethawks. Good light bar. When we moved to strobes I still preferred The streethawk. Much better in the daytime in a city setting than the strobe. I even liked them better at night.

Back years ago i trained with a department that had the streethawks on the late 90's caprice and crown vics. I ultimately decided to go with other employment. But I cannot stand strobes to this day.

We had a lot of these bars in the 1990's and while some didn't care for them, I actually didn't mind them and I felt they worked very well. I think the reason a lot of our guys in the Fire Service/EMS didn't like the StreekHawk is because we all came from an earlier time (1980's) where the AeroDynic bar was king and was without question THE bar of choice on all our apparatus. When you go from using those big beautiful synchronized AeroDynic bars to a StreekHawk with four independent (random) rotators you're bound to have those who will hate them.

Coordinatedamps create a greater flash which is better at attracting the unexpecting eye. When I coordinated the lamps in our Code 3 belt-driven light bar, drivers noticed the lights earlier and I could blare the siren less.

@@robertgift The old Federal Signal AeroDynic bars we used back in the day could be synchronized to any pattern you wanted but they typically came from the factory set to a pattern they called the handclap where both outer reflectors would simultaneously flash and sequentially go towards the center. It was an extremely effective pattern and you couldn't help but look at it. The old TwinSonic bars had the same flash pattern using internal mirrors. Those old halogen rotating bars were extremely effective.

@@ComputerLearning0 So the AeroDynic had toothed belts allowing the flashes to be be timed? Same I did withe Code 3. I.nstalled Red/Blue/White 360s so thathe same colors would flash simultaneously. Used a lot of electricity with 6 PAR 36 lamps each side. In place of the Code 3 mirrors I had headlight holders whicheld round PAR 46 halogen high beam lamps connected to the wigwagging headlights. The lamps could also be turned on to see far down the road for elk andeer in the mountains. Best light bar ever - if more aerodynamic. (Better than our current Whelen LED Liberty II light bar I made *[R][R][W][B][B][W][R][R]* .)

@@robertgift There were numerous versions of the AeroDynic bar made. One version was belt driven and was basically a TwinSonic bar on an AeroDynic chassis. It had two outer rotating sealed beam bulbs with inner mirrors just like the TwinSonic had. NYPD seemed to love that model and used it for years. The most common version you would see out there used a series of interconnecting plastic gears to synchronize the flash pattern. Each gear had numbers with tick marks on them allowing you to set the precise timing of each flash. I'll include a link below to another video that shows these gears and how they work. There was a third "budget" non-synchronized version that used independent motors on each reflector. Externally it looked like a synchronized AeroDynic but produced completely random flashes. Here's a beautiful all blue AeroDynic with the lenses off showing the synchronizing gears: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIXNkKqgr6qimsU

I love these as much as I don’t like some of its characteristics. It’s distinctively a beautiful bar and it ruled the light world for many years. The only down side is they were over sized which of course reduced mpg. But unlike modern led bars they stood out. They were red and blue (or what ever color combination) even when turned off which you just don’t get that with modern bars. After the street hawks reign lightbars began to get thinner to the point 911ep had one that when turned off looked like a luggage rack from the front or back. Now I will say too that despite these will never have the bright intensity that leds have obviously the lights of this era will never be matched in my book. Just something about rotators that have a look no led can compete with.

I liked the streethawks back in the day. Some of our cars had weak alternators, so if I had to sit for a long time (usually waiting for a wrecker). I would shut off the headlights and anything else I could to keep the rotators going.

I remember this kind of Lightbar, we have that kind of model here in Philippines used by our Police Force Ambulance/Paramedic Rescue vehicles and Fire Department during 90's or 2000 until it was replaced by LED Blue Red Lightbar including LED White Red, and Dual Red LED

Hello, I have this exact setup and was looking to refurbish mine (new lens, chrome, bulbs, etc) to make it look brand new. However, I have had zero luck finding parts. Do you have a go to site for such things? Thanks!

Hello. I would highly recommend elightbars.org for information, parts, literature and any questions you might have for emergency equipment. They would be very helpful and you might have some luck in finding new or refurbished parts.

Did China make precise illegal copies of the Streethawk? Saw them on police cars in Yantai. Look exactly as the one on my emergencyehicle, but no FS logo.

@@marke.1625 Thank you. Wow! Looks just like a Streethawk. Did Wolo buy the plans and obtain permission to make and sell? Wife, from China, say _"Wolo not Chinese name."_ Nothing special about Streethawk - I would have created my own design. Their lower level lights should have been bigger. (Years ago I bought a cast iron Parlor Stove from Yellow Front. It was made in China, probably illegally, from moulds made from disassembling a Washington Stove Works parlor stove.)

Hello, could you clarify a question, please. I realize that usually the red color is on the driver's side and the other colors like blue or green usually on the passenger's side. Is there a rule that sets the red one on and on the driver side or is it simply a common practice that was adopted by chance and followed as a standard? thank you.

@@bondoly66 Hi, thank you so much for the feedback. Got it, and it really makes perfect sense. From a distance, you will know which direction the vehicle is heading. Only red goes left. Only Blue, go right. Blue / Red, coming towards me. Red / Blue, going forward in the same direction I'm going. Again, thank you very much, I really hadn't associated this resemblance to naval and even aerial signaling. Big hug.

Streethawk light bars started appearing on our patrol cars around 1988 or 89 I believe. Most of the guys didn't care for them but I rather liked them. Our agency was still using AeroDynic bars when they tried out a few Streethawk S&W bars. I liked the Streethawks but hated the S&W's because they just didn't produce enough light output.
