One of the very few young guy's who get it,thank God my Dad,one time President of The Las Vegas Musicians Union and great stride pianoman taught me to hear at fourteen when he got me a bass guitar,it:s a lost art nowdays these so called music schools turn out a bunch of guys who blow a lot of notes but can't hear.Again what a treat Chris keep at man I'm now 74 ,but I love the real deal you guys are it.Love and Light

Chris, nice solo! I'm working on it.... I grew up reading more than hearing.... do you think it's better to transcribe from this to notes, or try to memorize it without writing the notes? This is what I try to do for ear training. If it were written out, I could sight read it, but it wouldn't help my ear

thanks Bill! I would do both. I write it out so I understand the relationship between the lines and the harmony and to also be clear with what is happening rhythmically. Then I would memorize so that you can absorb and internalize the vocabulary.
