I'm so glad to see more and more reasonably priced HomeKit products coming to market!

Absolutely, I really appreciate the thought that Xiaomi put into this product. .The addition of the Pomedero feature is really valuable I think. Could help introduce more people to timeboxing who otherwise weren’t aware of the technique. Plus, it looks like it fits in the office which is a good thing. :)

Hey @surendra abbina . What is your use-case? The different cameras have different positives and negatives. I don't think there's really a "best" camera, you just need to understand what you are looking to achieve and then match the available cameras to your requirements.

Can i set this lamp with a dimming time function like everyday at 22:00 hours the lamp's brightness goes down to 10%? And throughout the day it stays at 100%?

Definitely possible to do. This would be a time based automation that you would setup in whatever your automation platform is. This could be done in Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa or GoogleHome as well as potentially other platforms that support a Yeelight integration. There also the ability to create schedules natively in the Yeelight app.

Hello in the official page of Xiami in my country it says up 700 Lumens. From where you got the information of 400? Also it will be good enough for reading? I want to use it in a room that has terrible light

I would have gotten the values either off the box or the website at the time. But, to be honest, I would believe 700lm over 400lm. This still sits on my desk and it’s definitely on the bright side. It is definitely enough to brighten up an area to read by, but it’s not enough to brighten the whole room. Hopefully this helps?

@@Homekitgeek Thanks a lot! If is good enough to read is good enough for me! My normal light for the room is quite bad for reading but I am sure that after this comment that lamp will be perfect!

does this lamp work with alexa? thanks

Simple answer is yes it does support Alexa. Slightly longer answer is that, at least currently, you have to bind the Xiaomi app to their mainland China cloud to have the Desklamp show up. Xiaomi only exposes certain products depending on which of their clouds you are connected to. It can be a bit of a process to figure out which cloud is the right combo if you’ve got multiple Xiaomi kit in your setup.

Logitech is an OK adoption but I’m not found if the pricing model. The fact that they charge for motion zones is a bit much when other vendors include this feature for free. If it’s a general recommendation I would suggest looking at the Dlink OMNA. It does run a little hot (temperature) but it’s been a solid camera for me.

There’s a github project for building your own camera which is probably the least expensive option currently available. Based on a RaspberryPi. Totally agree there aren’t any great inexpensive options m, but then again. It’s Apple. Plus you’re paying for the extra security and privacy that are included in the ecosystem as well as future features like the iCloud based video recording that’s coming in iOS13.

I hear you. Personally, I don’t really think of the HomeKit cameras, at least in their current state, as security cameras. Apple Homekit is still fairly weak in the security system world. Great at home automation but I’d definitely be looking at something different for perimeter security or a home security option. Really looking forward to when Abode release their HomeKit support so we can have the best of both worlds.

Hey Asham, Home kitty is interesting but it’s been full of inaccurate data for a long time. Hoping that it eventually gets cleaned up as a good source of data but so far it’s been tough for me to refer anyone to it. I’ll have to go back and take a look.
