A lot of people seem to be misunderstanding how the Anna family works. Some of them are just normal people with normal families (see shadow dragon where several fairly normal Annas exist) who usually but not always are merchants. Some of them are inter-dimensional beings of great power only rivaled by divine and ancient beings (see apotheosis Anna and the now canon Fates gate guardian Anna). Some of them are playable characters (see Awakening playable Anna, Fates playable Anna, and engage Anna) who are fully aware that their families contain Annas ranging from normal merchants to inter-dimensional beings of great power and treat it like it’s no big deal.

Which brings up the question:did they conquer an entire world and remake it into a Hot Spring Resort, or did they just MAKE an Outrealm? I like the latter option personally

Anna is kind of odd how she has changed. In the first few games, it was the same woman as confirmed by the recurring character of Jake (Anna's love interest). Around awakening she gained the Nurse Joy gimmick to explain her reoccurrence, but in Fates she is known for faking the sister charade to sell more goods... This anna is definitely different but it makes you wonder about her family.

Awakening Anna's supports with Tiki show that her family keep tabs on pretty much everyone they come into contact on and write it for future generations of Annas. They pretty much serve as the historians of Fire Emblem, for the most part, which is pretty neat. I like to believe that Anna isn't somw multi-universal being but rather just a long lineage of merchants with grand ambitions.

At least 2 of the Annas are ancient, immortal, inter-dimensional beings of power only slightly less than a divine/astral/first dragon at their peak. We’ve known this for a while and that these Anna’s have traveled across their own multiverses but seem incapable of interacting with other multiverses (yes fire emblem has multiple canon multiverses now. At least 3 of them.) We also know that there are several Annas seemingly completely unaware that their families contain interdimensional super beings and other who know (like engage Anna and Fates playable Anna) but simply don’t care.

@@MrMariosonicman it's not really a restriction so much as part of what defines an Emblem. In Heroes its outright said by Celine that Emblems are "echoes" of the original heroes, and Marth explaining that Emblems are different beings from the original characters is meant to apply to all Emblems that exist, not just the ones in Elyos (given he makes this remark while talking about an Emblem from another universe). The bracelet Emblems being bound to bracelets seems to simply be due to them being from a different universe (this universe itself merely a different version of Elyos), not to them being a different sort of Emblem.

Y’know what’s funny to me? In the Chrobin paralogue, Chrom and Robin talk about Emmeryn’s life in past tense deliberately for reasons - and even late game events of Awakening in past tense, but then here, Chrom’s speaking of Emmeryn as if it’s before Chapter 9 of Awakening. Wanna know what I think? Chrom played A Hard Miracle. If so, it’d explain why he’d talk about her as if she was… well, y’know. 😏

Aren’t the Emblems spirits? Or something similar to them? I ask because the game describes them as being unable to physically interact with anything, like they can’t hold physical objects. And they talk about all of the events from their worlds in the past tense, so I’d assume they’re some sort of spirit or the like. Although, I’m not sure why the spirits of Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude would appear in their academy iterations, or why Veronica is a spirit, considering she’s still alive in FEH, but they’re supposedly from an alternate world. TDLR, Emblems are a fascinating concept but they’re also really confusing. XD

They travel around by using the Rift Doors you use to summon them in Awakening. They let them get into the Outrealms to travel through time and worlds, which is how there's such large gaps of time between the existence of the sisters. That's also why Apotheosis Anna is hella strong, she's the only one that used the dimension hopping ability to gain power instead of just trying to get money. It's also why they're all money-hungry as hell, they have no real ties to the world they're in, they only show up during times of war because they want to profit off of the crisis (and for the same reason, that's why they don't appear at all in Echoes and Gaiden, the people were too poor to be worth bringing anything).

It's possible that the Emblems are spirits from long after their time, manifested to appear at their strongest. If so, it makes sense spirits would be able to talk with other dead people. Sigurd even mentions being killed, I believe. When the Emblems duty is finished, the return to an afterlife where they can reunite with the spirts of their loved ones. It's one possible explanation at least.

I don't remember which game, either Fates or Awakening, but there is a support that reveals that there are an unbelievable amount of Annas across the entire franchise. The ones we meet in the games are just a small fraction
