I love your content and you’re my favorite magic streamer by far. Love watching cube drafts in particular. Is there any way you could hover over the cards a bit longer so we can read them? I had to look up probably 10 cards during your draft to see what they did, they were to difficult to pause on. Thanks so much for the content and keep up the great work!

ok.. just drafted a straight UR version, and game 1 i finished my opponent off from 20 with a kicked Fight with Fire and copied it with Lutri. LOL. This deck is a blast.

this is his specialty. its a specific mtg talent you have to have to be able to konw how to draft these cards when every pack is full of pack 1 pick 1's.

I have yet to watch the video (will when I get home) so my apologies. Did you study the cards before your first draft? Or did you just wing it? I’ve only started playing seriously about two years ago, so I doubt I’ll know most of the cards. And I hate the alchemy format so I won’t know any of those cards either.

I don't think he studied the cube list. Kenji's been playing Magic in all it's formats for so many years that it's quite likely he knows most cards (except new Alchemy cards) just from having played with them in each previous format they've been in.

Toralfs Disciple is incredibly awful in a control deck. Bad aggro body that shuffles cards you don’t want (by the mid/late game) into your deck.

There was only one moment that made me tilt a bit watchin this draft, you're talking about how you badly need cheap instants & sorceries and you don't take the creature that puts 4 lightning bolts into what would be your 30- card deck at time of casting (Toralf's Disciple, pack 3 pick 7) ... 0_0

Problem is though: he needed the cheap spells for the early interaction. By the time you cast your Toralf thingy, it's turn 3, and you need to wait till at least turn 4 before you even get a bolt. By that time, Kenji already had more relevant plays

That card is pretty awful for control. As another commenter mentioned, it doesn’t come down until turn 3, and you don’t get bolts until turn 4 at the earliest. However, you usually have to wait even longer than that before you get a bolt. The point of control is to use early interaction so you can resolve big threats lategame. This card is the exact opposite of that - terrible terrible control card.

I totally agree! I played one cube event so far and each game an alchemy card took over the game……went 0-3. I know I did not draft the greatest deck, but what I had should have been 2-3 wins just because of how chaotic this format usually is…….unfortunately the Alchemy cards prevent that and create way too much value.

Arena has the better interface and all compared to MTGO but a lot more of the players are 1) just worse at the game and 2) salty children.
