Filthy G Wagon Gets Detailed! Satisfying Exterior Auto Detailing

Big truck? Big mess! This Mercedes G wagon gets driven during Canadian winters and it brings the mess to show. We take this road grime covered vehicle and perform a thorough exterior detail. This vehicle was ceramic coated by us 2 years ago, so we know its protected, its just a matter of safely removing the layers and layers of winter road film and salt from the paint and other surfaces.

I want to upgrade really bad but i'm kind of just waiting until it will be justified by KZbin payments. For now I think the set up works just fine! And if we get water on it I am not extremely disappointed haha

When I go to dry my vehicle my microfiber towel is dirty (more so on the bottom panels of the vehicle). Am I not scrubbing hard enough when washing the vehicle or what?

JC97 you may be best off doing a pre spray of some kind. Degreaser or APC before you hit it with your mitt. This will break it down

I bought that foam sprayer but I can’t get any foam out of it. Like, I literally have to turn it upside down to get any foam out of it :/ What am I doing wrong

Dezzydaze the IK pump sprayer for Foam Cannon? If it’s the foam cannon I have no good answer but if it’s the pump sprayer it could be a bunch of different things. First one would be to make sure all the filters and tips are installed. I have put the tip on without the filter in before and it also didn’t really work. The other thing would be making sure there is room for air pressure, about 2 inches. If you fill it all the way up there’s no room to build the pressure you need to spray foam. Hope that helps, if not, very sorry!

It didn't bead in the pre-rinse because of the film of dirt still on top of the ceramic coating. Once it was washed away it started beading

That’s exactly correct! The layer of grime was blocking the hydrophobicity of the ceramic coating. It just needed to be washed away before it came back. The soap had nothing to do with it, just adding some great lubricity to safely wash the vehicle.

Did you polish the roof, the sun does a lot of damage to this area. Aside from the visible suspension parts nothing underneath was treated, salt sand and dust are all the enemies here, most cars rust and rot out from the bottom up except. GMs, their lousy paint only lasts 4 or 5 years and the bodies are often rusty b4 they painted, mine was.

The roof was polished years ago prior to coating. The undercarriage was cleaned as well it is just impossible to film under a vehicle and this is way too heavy for our lift. That sucks that your GM had issues! Not a huge fan of their clear coats. Thanks for watching!
