Well done! Very helpful to me, as I am scrambling to find and purchase enough suddenly discontinued Chromecast Audio units in recent days for my affordable whole home audio system solution in progress. I think Google is missing a huge opportunity by discontinuing the CA prematurely, IMHO. The Chromecast Audio is still a great affordable solution for mere mortals among us with average budgets who value audible audio performance and bang for buck over ridiculously expensive status symbols with bloated and pretentious price tags dangling for all to admire like those on the beloved late comedienne, Minnie Pearl's tacky hats (God rest her soul). Thank you.

I use a free spotify account without any problems. I can cast from my phone to each device or the entire group just fine.

where did you get that white TV stand from? I'm needing a lower TV stand with good compartments. That looks pretty nice. I also use CCA for my receiver, works great.

It's from Ikea called the HEMNES TV bench. I removed the middle drawer so I can fit the receiver, but still has a lot of space for my devices and media. It's sturdy because of the solid wood construction. Had it for more than 5 years. Thanks.

am using the analog cables & sounds good, thinking to try optical to my dac, Is it just plug in to the same 3.5mm port & go? or further settings required thks

No further settings required...the device "knows" what signal to output (analog or digital/optical).

If the Chromecast is connected to the receiver via optical, can you still adjust its volume individualy via the google home app?

Yes, you can. Home and other apps treats it the same.

Is quality worse when using RCA compared to optical? My amp only has RCA

Not necessarily if the DAC of the receiver isn't any good. Just make sure the "Full dynamic range" option is enabled and to use a decent analog cable and is short to minimize interference.

Can you cast yt from your phone on chromecast audio? Or do you know if I can play yt from phone to homegroup chromecast video + chromecast audio? Is it even possibile gto group diferent types of chromesats in a one group?

No, you can't cast YT to an audio only device, the CCA or Home Mini - I've tried. Also, you can only cast audio to a group it seems.

For some reason i cant play music on mine, i can only turn up and down volume on the app, i know it works cuz when i do my speaker makes a sound Edit: it simply doesn't go on my speaker when i open spotify or youtube
