Can you use the remote control to rewind and forward while using the Chromecast to Netflix? I notice that the Chromecast Dongle doesn't have a remote control that can do this. Only Pause and Play through HDMI-CEC

Hi! Can I cast something from my phone when the Mi Box is turned off? Or If I say to my Google home mini: "Hey Google, play Friends on Netflix" will it turn on the Mi Box and start playing? Because I read somewhere that the cast function isn't available when the Mi Box is turned off, and the Mi Box doesn't show up as a casting device on your phone.

Xiaomi Mi Box S is a nice android TV box but it is not the best streaming TV Box . I have the Nvidia Shield Android TV box and the Xiaomi Mi Box S. The Nvidia Shield is the best of the best of all Android TV boxes out there. Xiaomi Mi Box S is a great budget box or a great secondary box.

Google now makes a Chromecast unit with Android TV built-in. The days of third-party Android TV boxes like these are numbered. I think the only android boxes to survive will be the ones that run the regular Android rather than Android TV, so that more applications work, and which have way more connectivity options: ethernet, USB. Or else, they will have to compete with better specs: better price/performance than Google's. More storage, faster processor type of thing.That's hard, especially given that pretty much all these boxes perform more than well enough for even Above-Average Joe. Higher specs are needed for using these boxes in unintended ways.

Decided to return it within an hour.. it’s too many things cramped together... no fun... everything works but i am the guy who still uses a separate modem and router... I like the control to stay on my iPhone and not an added remote ... I can talk to google home mini with nothing in my hand... I always needed a remote in this case which is no fun.. if you are really tight on budget, go for it ... otherwise don’t bother if you have a chromecast or Apple TV...
