Never tried the Gen1 bc it was out of stock forever in Norway, and then the 2nd gen was announced this spring. After getting one, I ordered two more the same day which arrived this week and considering a 4th one. The speakers are awesome and pack a lot of punch for the size. No issues so far.

I would prefer a dockable tablet for a bit more. Remove it and use it on the sofa or while cooking in the kitchen or in the bedroom in bed and then redock it when it done. Would make a perfect glorified smart alarm clock with an OLED screen for always on display at night.

Superficial and unprofessional review. It doesn't even mention that Gen 2 has 3 microphones (compared to 2 in Gen 1) or that the microprocessor incorporated in Gen 2 is more powerful and allows faster searches. Nor does it mention that the Gen 2 has an intelligent learning system that "remembers" the searches that are done most frequently to make them faster in subsequent uses. Not to mention that the Gen 2 can measure room temperature and the 1 can't.

I wish they would add auto rotate. Not sure why they don't since it's a super simple software update. Then I could hang it upside-down under my cabinets in the kitchen. Or sideways? Why not?

How is the sound compared to Nest Audio? Can you pair them to get a balanced stereo sound?

Nest Audio is massively better in sound One has a screen, one doesn't. If you ONLY want audio, get the Nest Audio. If you want the information and home automation features (and KZbin etc) get a hub.

It's summer time so I sleep with the windows open. And every other minute a first responder or air ship passes by. Im near dtla. So Im concerned if the google radar wont get affected by the noises. help please

Who really NEEDS to track their sleep anyways? It's a nice feature but I don't know who would check their sleep data all that much. Sleep tracking is kind of one of those features that you set up & forget about it.

Nice video, but I don't think I'll be upgrading my current 1st gen Nest Hub anytime soon, as I keep it in my kitchen, and it does everything I need it do already, as I don't want a bright display next to my bedside, so I use an older Insignia Smart Clock that has Google assistant built in, and all I have to do to cancel the alarm is tap it.

My 1st gen nest hub does that also and it dims to almost non visible that displays the time super diml that isn’t disturbing when in low to no light. Also it has the sunrise alarm, and their are buttons to stop or snooze

@@macbookpro16inch82 The Nest Hubs are missing one thing my Insignia Smart Clock does have which is a USB port to charge my phone, and having to run an extra cable from the wall outlet vs. a shorter USB C cable from my clock is a no go, plus the Insignia clock sounds as good if not better than the new Nest hub when playing music with it's large speaker. Yes I can make that claim as I've had the original Nest Hub, 1st Gen Google Home mini, Insignia Smart Clock, & lenovo smart clock essential(picked one up for my aunt when it was on sale for $25 at Walmart, and played around with it for a day before resetting it, and giving it too her), right next to each other in the same room, and the Insignia speaker blew them out the water far as loudness, clearity, and bass response goes. Having said that if I was going to pick up a current device for a bedroom for myself it would be be the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential since it has a night light, basic display with time/temp, and a USB port as again I don't need a giant screen in my face when I'm in bed, since my phone is already on my nightstand, which is why my Nest hubs is in my kitchen/great room(Kitchen, Dining Room, and Den with fireplace in one big space) where the whole family can use it.

Would have never bought it should I have known ahead of time, when I picked it on sale at the store, that I would need to pay for the sleep feature. Will NEVER EVER pay for that. Especially that it is so rudimentary. Lots of information missing that they could provide in fitbit app such as dark and temp (although temp is quite innacurate), total snoring time, an access to be able to listen to sounds that were identified, etc. Especially that I never or rarelly use these cheap sounding devices when listening to music. Never listen to music in my bedroom.

Nice video. I always have a question about Google devices. When I say hey Google, all my devices start to respond to me. Lol Anything I can do to avoid that. For example, in my kitchen bar table, I have Lenovo Smart Display 7, my Google Chromebook Go, and my Pixel phone. If I say Hey Google, I really meant for my Lenovo Smart Display, what should I do? Thanks.

Usually only one unit in the same "home" will respond at a time. Not sure how to tune which one responds, but all of them dont blab on at the same time. Check if your units are in the same "home" in the app at least. : )
