Chronic low back pain is a common, long-term condition with at least 12 weeks of pain. Though it’s usually felt in the lower back, pain can spread to other areas, such as the hips, legs, and feet.
There are several potential causes for chronic low back pain, including musculoskeletal problems and spinal abnormalities, underlying medical conditions, such as arthritis and osteoporosis, and lifestyle habits like sitting for long periods and carrying heavy bags.
You may wonder, what can I do to lessen chronic low back pain? Well, there are several lifestyle measures you can take to reduce the pain and discomfort.
First, practice regular stretching and exercises such as yoga and pilates. These can help strengthen your core and improve flexibility, which helps with posture and can reduce pain.
Additionally, you may want to try heat and cold therapies. Applying heat or cold to the affected area can provide temporary relief.
Lastly, make sure to take breaks during the day and get enough sleep. Too much rest is not good for your back, and inadequate rest decreases your ability to cope with pain.
These lifestyle changes can make a big difference when it comes to chronic low back pain. Remember, if something doesn’t work, don’t be afraid to try something else.

Doctor, Could you please do a video on herniated disc L4 L5 S1 I’ve been facing severe pain in the left leg radiating pain buttock to complete leg. I’ve taking chiropractic sessions for 5 months but pain still exists also taken physical therapy sessions nothing is helping out. In the last 2 months I’ve taken 2 times ESI injections but it’s like temporary relief only now again doctor prescribed me to go for physical therapy. Could you please advise if there’s any surgery that would fix the issue permanently. Currently I’m unable to stand or walk for at least a minute it starts paining and numbness/tingling through which I stopped lot of my activities. Please advise.
