Harlow is picking up on the itching so quickly! It's awesome watching you train her and seeing her do task work!

Something that might be helpful, my Wal-Mart near me has curbside pick up. You order online and an employee picks everything out for you so all you have to do is drive up and it's put in your car. Then you could grocery shop on your own, hope this helps! :)

I'm so happy you were able to find a good Occupational Therapist that is treating you like an adult, let alone treats adults. I can't find one after six months of looking to help with my autism and SPD so I'm mostly just working on my own and training my service dog to help with things, like grounding tasks or guiding tasks to exits when I get to overwhelmed.

Tell Judd I sympathize - I've taught self defense classes for almost 5 years now and I didn't want to recommend something that I hadn't experienced - every single thing I teach has been used on me so I know what it feels like and how quickly an attacker could recover - so I went in on the day the new police recruits were getting pepper sprayed (I work with the local police force on self defense classes so I had contacts) and oh my. It was so bad, Judd definitely recovered faster than I did, but I didn't have a handy pool to jump in 😂.

I have just started touch training. this weekend following your tutorial. She picked it up so fast!! She thinks booping my hand means she gets a treat no matter what we are doing. Now I have a wet nose in my hand randomly throughout the day!! Such a smart girl!!

I feel ya hun! I get the same way after a long adventure. Usually after a Wal-Mart trip I'm completely done for the day by time I hit the checkout. Although our shopping trip is usually about 2 hours. We only go once or twice a month and there's 4 people and a cat. Anyways I get the same effects. Glad you got to enjoy your Target time! Glad you weren't having an allergic reaction, sorry you had the mild pepper spray reaction.

How do I go about getting a service dog? Maybe you have the name of a reputable site to go to? Or something to point me in the right direction. Or do you have a video about this that I haven't seen? Any bit of help would be great. Thanks Jaquie love you.

Can't you get your groceries delivered? In PA we have a couple different services where you can order groceries online and have them delivered. They bring them into your kitchen and place them on your counter. It's great!

Judd, I know how it sucks to be pepper sprayed. I was a deputy for years, until my career came to an end. I won't go into that but I remember how horrible it was. I couldn't breathe and they were asking me to give my name and ss number. lol that was hard. but big props to you for being a fellow deputy. hugs to you and Jacquie. hope all is well. BTW, Jacquie my 18 year old son shares the same bday as you. xoxo btw, if you're ever unintentionally sprayed again, use Dawn dishwashing liquid. it helps cut through the thick oil base and really does help. freeze +p is what I was sprayed with and OMG sucks lol

But...pepper spray has the potential to permanently damage the eyes and even cause blindness! Shouldn't it be illegal to force students to go through this? I mean, it's not like you can build up immunity or get used to it, so there isn't even any point in doing this...:/

That repetition sounds a bit like echolalia. You might benefit from finding different phrases to repeat as it's often an instinctive stim for us.
