I’m going to have to say ‘bye’ for a while. My cPTSD is progressing faster than my team is able to manage now. My world is getting smaller by the week, partly because I can’t really sleep anymore. Interaction with others has become much more difficult (sorry for any crazy-person posts that overstepped!). PTSD is a crushing, insidious and invisible illness. In spoony terms, I’ve only got about 5 spoons now when I get up in the morning. My day is often over long before lunch time. Of course, I hope your situation improves very soon. You and Judd are awesome people who are doing a very beneficial thing. :) I hope to be able to rejoin and support your efforts one day.

If you blend the spinach with the liquids before adding the veggies it will get puréed better without any little leafy bits left. Learned that from making green smoothies for myself. Of course, it might not make a big difference to Harlow!

I have diabetes and I normally wake myself up when my blood sugar is low but on a rare occasion sI don't wake myself up. On a couple of those occasions one of my guinea pigs Midori woke me up. She was wheeking really loudly until I woke up and swore at her. After I woke up I realized my blood sugar was low. I hope Harlow will easily learn to alert you to low blood sugars and that everything goes well when you get the feeding tube. It feels so nice when you get the proper nutrition in and your energy comes back. I forgot that I wanted to add that maybe you can ask your doctor for a prescription for dextrose to put in your port. They also have dextrose in needles that you inject in your muscles.

I will go into a coma and possibly die if I don't get medical help in time. There's only been one time where I almost went into a coma and it was when I was taking a nap. Thankfully my mom woke me up but I don't remember waking up or going into my mom's bedroom. I came to when I was eating some food she made me.

Such a beautiful and loyal dog! I as well have a golden retriever and she actually works in a library with disabled children and teenagers. She sits on their lap or lays close near them and they read to her. Having a dog near them helps them relax, and have a companion to read to. Much love to you and your family!❤️

That's awesome she picked it up on her own. Look into getting glucose gel if your okay with it it's kinda like cake icing that you write on the cake with and you can rub it on your gums if you can't keep anything down or see if they can give you glucose to use in the nj tube or your port in case

our home-trained service dog started alerting me to low sugar about 2 months after getting her. she was still doing obedience training at the time. she is a rescue, mostly bird/hunting dog. a southern girl like me! she pulls a wheelchair, though still learning not to pull a people! she still gets too excited about seeing people, other dogs and anything running. her prey drive is very strong but she will now sit without being told when she sees some animal (or leaf!) she really wants. she is the 3rd dog i have trained as my service dog.

I'm amazed at how mentally focused and awake you are for someone who can't eat and feels sick as well. For someone who is so unwell, you are doing so well! I've got a few chronic illnesses, all pain and fatigue related, plus mental health probs, severe depression and PTSD and anxiety. A quick look through your comments section, shows me that I'm not only one with mental health lucky dip prizes! I am definitely not as focused and disciplined as you are, especially when it comes to keeping my home clean, I just find it so difficult to do and keep with. But I have my own companion animal - a rescued cat called Gracie. She had been hit by a car and had serious injuries when I first started fostering for my local shelter and they brought her to me only hours after they reconstructed her leg,hip and pelvis with metal plates and pins. It was a long journey to get her back to near perfect health and I adopted her, knowing that after all that she and I had been through, I couldn't give her away to someone else. She hasn't left my side since and that was 6 yrs ago, She's not trained and she can't do anything fancy apart from wear a harness like an itsy bitsy boss and I take her for walks etc - she can't go outside by herself, her vets bills where big enough after one road accident!

My brother is type 1 diabetic. We have been trying to convince him to get a service dog for his diabetes. You probably wouldn’t need to train her in blood sugar detection because, like you said, she is intuitive. She lives and works with you 24/7. Our pet dog has alerted that my brother is having a low blood sugar many times, they can be life savers.

A little bit of icing gel under your tongue may help when your blood sugar tanks. When my blood sugar drops (for no real reason other then I just don't feel hungry and/or forget to eat) I feel so sick that the thought of drinking or eating anything makes me feel even worse. I just keep a tube in my bag and will put some under my tongue and it helps almost immediately and then I can attempt to eat something with out feeling sick. Also, I know your insurance doesn't cover IV zofran (fingers crossed it will be covered soon) but can you take the zofran that dissolves in your mouth? I know your stomach doesn't absorb much but my Doctor said the dissolvable Zofran actually hits your blood stream through your membranes in your mouth. It may be an option to treat the nausea until the IV Zofran is approved? Hope you are feeling better soon!!

I think the thing I like most about you is that even though you're going through a lot, you aren't seeking pity . I've seen plenty of vids here on KZbin where someone may be going through maybe 1 or 2 issues that aren't even as critical or even life threatening as your health problems and they tend to whine and seek constant attention from those around them . And I mean, these are folks who don't even have life-threatening illnesses and if someone comments that they can relate, they do this " Well my ouchie is WAAAY bigger than yours", kind of thing . I love how strong you are and I know that's definitely not an easy thing to do when you're suffering so much . I hope you continue to get better and you, your dog, and your husband make a GREAT power team !

Brogan Akroyd Hello! Idk if Jaquie will be able to answer your question. But ACV is great for all kinds of things for dogs. In her case she's using it as a liquid to blend the veggies up. But it's great for digestion, healthy skin and coat, arthritis pain. The list goes on! you can also use it as a topical treatment for other things too 😀

vidya dogs have better sense of smell than we do, some dogs can even smell some form of cancer. Service dogs are trained depending on the needs of the person.

When a person is just getting diabetes, their breath smells of pears. That's one symptom. I suppose there is something like that the dog smells. Also, your attitude changes a lot (meaning you could sweat more or start to smell different) this isn't true for all diabetics but should be considered
