I'm from Bangor, born and raised and still live here. I live less than a mile from Stephen King's Bangor home. It's really NOT that exciting, LOL. We always used to see him all over town when I was a kid. He also helped coach my YMCA basketball team when I was about 12-13 years old. My mom even went to college at UMaine with him. He's just a regular guy. Even though he's a huge celebrity, us Bangorians don't look at him that way. To us, he's just Steve. People who aren't from around here lose their sh*t when they find out that I live so close to him and that I actually know him. I just laugh. He and his wife are very nice, generous people and have done a lot for the community over the years.

I lived in Bangor from 2013-2016, and loved it. Only left due to an employment opportunity in the Seattle area, where there’s a Bangor nearby…though it’s pronounced incorrectly! 😂

Bangor is a beautiful town. I had occasion to visit on business about 3 years ago in the summer. Drove down this charming street with these incredible old Victorian homes.. parked my car and walked around to take some pics. Never dreamed that this one belonged to Mr. King. A beautiful and fascinating place... and the wrought iron work is out of this world. I've never heard a bad thing about him, and know that around Bridgton, Maine where I am most of the time, he's noted for being an Extremely generous patron of the Bridgton Medical Center, and around town in general.

Bangor looks so beautiful. Very picturesque. I read about it in Stephen King books and didn't imagine this much snow. I can imagine how such place surrounded with nature could have inspired an author, for i think nature does inspire our inner life with its mysterious ways. Winter is so apt to write horror stories, i think. Summer is for romance and suspense. I love mother earth so much. It has so much to give to us mankind but we remain unaware of it often times.

Paul Bunyan's is from Minnesota.
@danforthe20062 жыл бұрын
No, Paul Bunyan was born in Maine and later spent time in a number of locations to the west as the focus of the lumber industry shifted in that direction. Sorry, but that's the truth.
